When I was in high school, I remember adults would often reply “I don't know enough to say” when asked about, say, something Henry Kissinger was doing, or whatever. Now, people know exactly everything about countries they could not find on a map.

Is this related to the whole “self esteem” push from the schools, where everyone should feel great about themselves without any link to performance or accomplishment? I think it probably does...
