Guess who is getting a pay raise? Who least deserves a pay raise? Obama is proposing that those who deserve it the least, federal employees should get a 1.4% pay increase while millions of Americans are out of work and struggling to pay taxes. Taxes that Obama is trying to increase. To further salt the wound for taxpayers, the Census Bureau reports that in 2009 Federal Employees earned on average 21% more than workers in the private sector, (ibid). The

This is the ultimate insult to Americans--taking the taxes of the unemployed to pay for an increase to Federal Employees. Worse yet it is the result of a bribe Obama made to get Federal votes.

If we ever get a decent President, I wish he would issue an executive order putting everyone elected to office and everyone appointed by them on commission. Pay them the average wage in the U.S., minus the unemployment rate, the prime interest rate, the inflation rate and the percentage of persons on public assistance. The order would also prohibit the passage of any “supplemental” pay when times are hard. Pay for performance, just like the real world.
