Glenn Beck is irresponsible in his leadership
me ^ | 02/18/10 | Jen Kuznicki

Glenn Beck, the latest phenom of the Conservative Movement, jumps the shark nearly every week.

I have not been a fan of his. That said, I believe he is putting the movement in jeopardy.

You could spend a whole day surfing youtube for his latest outlandish behavior, but I do not fault him for that. In the entertainment industry, it is necessary to put on some sort of showmanship. I don’t personally like his brand, but I would not bicker over personal taste.

The problem I see is that he is not uplifting. He is more libertarian than conservative, but his message always seems to end up with the viewer or listener commiserating with him. As if he has accepted being the shepard and just aims to console rather than inspire.

It is not a good path for someone who commands as great an audience as he has.

Beck should lead like a parent, allowing his audience to understand that while exposing what the administration is doing, he encourages them to want to do something about it. He does not do that, instead, he nurtures inaction. Sitting around and learning bad things then mourning for their country will drive people to drink and continue to want to commiserate with others who do the same and cycle continues. The only stimulating thing Beck has done has to do with driving people toward Ron Paul, which is just disgraceful, especially since the Paul followers are isolationists and security-challenged.

I take serious offense with his continuous drive toward a third party. That idea is reprehensible and he should know better, and has been pulled by the ear by many conservatives because of it. Yet, he continues. He seems able enough to repeat quotes from serious scholars and thinkers without telling his audience who said it first, but he hasn’t an inkling how to listen to the message these thinkers give.

Many have wondered if he is just in “it” for himself. There is nothing wrong with being a capitalist, but to steal and put up fronts is no way to lead. The worst kind of capitalist is one who does not govern himself first. Perhaps that is why he doesn’t inspire his viewers and listeners. He doesn’t know how.

Look, I know he has had a past that included drugs and alcohol, and I do not fault him for that. People in glass houses and so on, but his direction is no longer humorous.

Being in management myself, I have always employed the idea of hiring your replacement, then staying one step ahead of them. It encourages healthy competition and drives the best to the top. Sarah Palin was just hired by Fox. If she is given any kind of freedom there, Beck is toast.

I watched the Constitution Town Hall that Hillsdale College gave a while back, and Dr. Larry Arnn said that in order to move the country to where it needs to go, which is toward the Constitution and the Founding, it is going to take a lot of thinking. Mr. Beck needs to start doing that.

You confuse a candidate with the threat of a candidate.

I bet you are the same type of person who hates how the MSM doesn’t get it right.

On the contrary. I understand exactly why the MSM gets it wrong. Just as I understand exactly why bloggers behave the way they do.

...he’s one of the few that actually calls people to action.

what action is that?

You may read the following for additional background. Stop listening to Glenn Beck as a minimum. He is a slick traitor ambushing true Constitutionalists and repeating the global government line on 9/11 to keep us all in state of fear from covert bogeymen. He had me fooled for over a year. There are forces seeking to subvert and absorb the Tea Party grass-roots movement with Beck as their media figurehead and Palin as their neo-con political figure. (view Hitler on Glenn Beck for humorous political satire on this topic)

·         Sarah Palin 9/11 Truther Controversy Explodes

·         Chris Matthews Mimics Glenn Beck’s Talking Points

·         Glenn Beck, Like Debra Medina, Has Questions About 9/11

9/11 truth is the third rail for the fake left-right paradigm. They have latched on to this in an attempt to discredit Medina and others. I, like thousands of other engineers holding an Engineering Week press conference on Friday, 19 Feb, have serious questions about the WTC 1,2 and 7 engineered implosions. That doesn’t make us terrorists or threats to Barack Hussein Obama. That is a false fiction being drummed up by Beck and others to support a possible false flag attack on Obama which will engender ANOTHER crisis from which only a bigger, more intrusive government that restricts additional freedoms can rescue us and keep us all safe and sound in our jammies. (Have some milk and cookies and step into the naked body scanner and get your hands swabbed by your friendly TSA agent on your next plane trip. Hope you’re not allergic to that swabbing material and your naked body pics don’t end up on the Internet.)

Silver lining: thinking individuals will look deeper into 9/11 truth to see what all the fuss is about and make up their own mind vs. having the globalist media do it for them.

One thing I would give him high marks on is being able to attract demographics not yet reached by Limbaugh, Levin, Hannity and the rest - and that would be women, and moderate minorities, and even some young adults.

But what good will that do when he gets them so upset at both Parties that come November 2010 and 2012 they vote Third Party?

"He does not do that, instead, he nurtures inaction."

Sorry. but that's bullsh!t.

No one - no single person - on television or radio or the Internet has done more to encourage people to get off their couches and come to the aid of their country during the past year than Glenn Beck.

That's right: for all his over-the-top emotionalism, the man has done a profound public service. No one else has created such popular momentum: not Rush (who I love); not Sean Hannity (who likes the sound of his own voice too much to really listen to his guests).

No one has been more instrumental in getting Americans involved in taking back their country from the Progressive hoard. Glenn Beck created the 9/12 Project. He is a one-man catalyst for action. Millions of Americans would not even know what "Progressivsim" is, much less the threat it presents were it not for Glenn Beck.

If it were not for Glenn, would you even know who Van Jones is? Or Anita Dunn? Or Cass Sunstein? Or why their proximity to the White House mattered so profoundly? Please: give the man the credit he is due. Have you attended any Tea Parties? I have. I saw a great number of signs with a variety of messages. One of the most common among them was: "Thank You, Glenn Beck".

Someone on here taught me to do this: < i > before the quote (leave out the space before and after the i). After the quote do arrow / i arrow. Again no spaces. To drop down two spaces for your post follow the arrow i arrow with arrow p arrow.

When you start by saying you don’t like Glenn or his policies, everything after that is void. I see everything just about 180 degrees differently than you do. Evidently thousands upon thousands do too. So don’t watch him. I think he’s about the best thing going on TV right now.

“Threat of a viable third party candidate...no better way to whip the GOP back into conservative thinking and behavior.”

Absolutely...if they can’t belong to a conservative party, they can go elsewhere and we need to let them know it. No more RINO’s...if they don’t get that message, they won’t change.

Beck adds up 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 0 = 0...
Zero does add up.. He sometimes divides by 0 too..

Its tough job but somebodys got to do it..
Without Beck; President Zero would add to any number of cyphers..
Do you yourself add like Chris Matthews?
RINOs on this website are TARGETS.. Targets are useful..

Because i go to my local Republican Party meetings, and everybody says, progressive, progressive, hitler, hitler, mussilini, ron paul--like a bunch of robots.

Some people are thrust into a leadership position by the number of followers and the readiness of the followers to do anything he says

A person CANNOT deny leadership responsibility without total chaos.

Beck should lead like a parent....

Stopped reading right f’ing there.

NO! It is NOT anyone’s job in the media or government to “lead like a parent”!

Get this through your thick f’ing skull! This is what got Clinton elected, the damn pony tailed guy in Richmond, Virginia that stood up and said, “Think of us as your children...”

That’s music to the ears of anyone that wants power, dictatorial control and to lead without mandate. We are NOT following Glenn Beck! We are NOT being led around by the nose! We are NOT parroting talking points!

Glenn Beck is everyman who’s fed up with everything he sees. He’s a representative of outrage, not the cause of it. He is not a leader, he doesn’t want to be a leader and he has shunned taking credit for mass voter discontent.

You can turn the channel, you can listen to other commentators, you can become apolitical. However the second you’ve told someone to “lead like a parent” or to “think of us as your children” you’ve surrendered yourself to their will, not yours.

Just how new are you to this life, liberty and pursuit of happiness thing???

Right-on!

Even Rush has commented the 3rd party movement will keep MAO-bama with a permanent majority...yet Beck continues either thru stupidity or because he wants the Bamster to continue "ruling" like a dictator. There are no other choices for his actions.
