She is not cold-blood Dukakis. Trig is very dear to her. Politically, I agree that she shouldn’t react to every singe mock about Trig. She has made it clear now that mocking or saying making fun of Trig is not something she appreciates. I hope she will be selective in the future.

The problem is she cannot have it both ways. If she really really really wants to make it stop more than anything else, then get out of public life. But she has made it very clear that her public life is more important than her family not enduring these snide comments. But then she plays the victim role when the snide comments come. It is not wise. She needs to ignore it and take more the attitude of willingness to expose her family to these things in the name of helping the country.

Yah. And 0bama does?

[insert big pause here]

If 0bama received 15% of the barrage that was launched against SP he would soil his drawers and I swear I would put money on that proposition.

Neither do any of the people who make Family Guy. I watched a few minutes of it several months ago. Complete crap. Lousy animations and stupid dialogue. F- work for a first year college art course.

Maybe, but what if there was a cartoon calling Obama’s kids “nappy headed hoes”? If he responds is he being too think skinned? Politicians’ kids should be off limits when they’re minors or out of the public eye - it’s different when they get themselves in trouble or run for office themselves.

The Clintons had a lot of people making fun of Chelsea. I think they handled that reasonably well. I think the lefty sites probably were poking fun at the Bush girls. I think they were getting coverage on some of the grocery store magazines. Nobody is going to make fun of Obamas kids becuase there is a double standard on this stuff. But so what.

Defend them from what? If she feel that her family should not be made fun of then she should quit being in the public, today. Playing the victim card on this does not play well.

I think there are two big differences - Trig is a baby, not a teenager and I don’t recall prime time TV shows making fun of Chelsea - in fact everyone pretty much kept clear. Second, unless you’re Jerry Lewis or the person who writes Zippy the Pinhead, it’s really not funny to make fun of retarded people - or should I say mentally challenged? We should never accept the Libs’ double standard but should challenge them on it at every opportunity.

She was not just replying to comments about her child, it is the whole special needs community that she stands up for. When has it ever been ok to make fun of anyone with special needs. Didn’t your mom ever smack you up side the head and tell you not to stare just because someone else was different. Get real.

Oh. Go shove it....

There should be standards in the United States of America. Making fun of a disabled child is something that should be shot down with shame. and it is something that all good Americans should fight back again. There is justification for attacking or mocking a child. None.

Evil prospers when good people let it.

Sarah Palin has every right to remain in public and EXPECT that her children are treated well. This in the United States of America man, snap out it. We are better than this..

That’s why South Park (Cartman) skewers FG everytime they have the chance. It’s no secret both South Park creators hate Family Guy and that it sucks.

The punchline “it reminds me of the time ....” by the lead characters has been used and abused that SP picked up on it and made it a punchline in itself.

I don't see it necessarily having both ways. She now has made it clear that she doesn't appreciate people making fun of Trig. Having said it already, now she should not be easily offended in public whenever someone mocks him. She should just shrug it off and avoid being lured too much talking about it.

Sounds like she would make a good spouse to a president. She could then adopt a really important cause like children being too fat or a cause like making people aware that it is not cool to make fun of mentally handicapped people.

Why do you assume she is playing the victim? The leftwing idiots took a shot at her kid, and she took a shot back. That's not playing the victim, that's called fighting back. In fact, I think that is one of the main reason she remains in the public eye - to get some payback, and do it in a style that she couldn't do when she was a political candidate. I say, let her unload with both barrels.

She is doing a brilliant rope-a-dope IMO. She made it appear that she has a vulnerable spot with Trig and Down Syndrome kids. Look who took the bait. The left's biggest idiot. Now he looks like pond scum.

Same strategy the Sioux used at the Battle of the Little Bighorn.

Not in this case she isn’t. It was a personal attack on her and she has the right to respond to such attacks. I am an old fan of Family Guy...but no longer one at all. It is one big bash on Jesus and Conservatives every single episode.

Done with it.

South Park is more my humor...equal opportunity insults.

I, too, think that Family Guy is hilarious and while I agree that the PC crowd has run amok and that everyone is WAY too sensitive, I also think that a line must be drawn somewhere. Creating “humor” at the expense of a Down’s child is over that line.

Great, we have real issues like health care and cap and trade and our gal Sarah is off making sure that Bill Maher is being discredited as a jerk. Wow, now that is really keeping her eye on the ball.
