Correct - Buddhists believe that carnal lust is one mankinds’ worst attachments and the source of much of our ignorance and bad karma. To put it in terms Tiger can understand: “Just DON’T do it!” The hippie-Buddhism we see here in the USA is to Buddhism (particularly Zen) as cotton candy is to nutrition.
By the way - I suggest you propose allowing openly Gay and same-sex monks to any Buddhist monestary or order in Thailand, Japan, China, etc.. - and watch the reaction. You will be run out of town on a rail. But I digress.....

True Buddhist principles, like we saw in Vietnam. Your country is taken over by communists, and people come from the other side of the globe to help you kick them out. In doing so, people die so you get a gas can, drench yourself in fuel and set yourself on fire. Oh those principles. I got it.

probably. the sad thing is, I have a friend who claims to be a Christian (Obama supporter, sadly) who tells me how surprising it is to see the parallels between Buhddism and Christianity.
