Aaah Avatar. The epic saga of evil colonialists savaging the peaceful indigenous inhabitants of...oh hell, does it really matter? It's white Americans and we should all feel guilty for the brutality wrought upon the Native Americans, Mexicans, and/or slaves. And yes, this includes all white people, even if your ancestors were not here during any of those periods. You're guilty no matter what. You're white. You're automatically a bigot.
Or if you don't like the racist approach, you can go with the plundering nature theme. That works just as well. The earth is warming after all. Or is it cooling? That's right, it's cooling. Wait. Can I use a lifeline for that one? Because honestly, I think that's a trick question. Uh, you know what, I'm gonna go with the earth is...spinning

Its weird, but it just might be correct
Cameron originally had an alien nookie scene in the script? Wanna bet that it is included in the Director’s Cut DVD?
It was an enjoyable movie, but a complete fiction.
How is it “enjoyable” when it is propaganda pushing the left’s agenda?
Nawww.... With all that internet porn around some kid is gonna yank his crank to Avatar? There are way better options than that....
I wouldn’t doubt it, knowing Hollyweird.
You have to tune out the agenda, and treat it as fiction. In which case it becomes a classic good vs evil in an alien world setting with remarkable graphics and a neat genetically spawned mind connect avatar theme.
That “review” is the stupidest thing I’ve read so far this year.
And pumping their sculls full of mush with a completely sophomoric and incoherent morality story. The guy's an avarice letch.
I can’t take it anymore. Alright first let me start off with this:
SPOILER ALERT!
If you are one of the 5 people left who havn’t seen this movie stop here.
After seeing this movie in IMAX 3D and having already heard all the political reasons why I would hate it I went in expecting to be badly disappointed. I was not. The story certainly leaned a bit left but it was by no means as bad as it is being portrayed.
Cameron gives a few “outs” to keep the movie from going ultra political.
False point 1: The movie is not about evil white military. The movie goes to great lengths to describe these people as MERCENARIES hired by corporate interests.
False point 2: The “rape the land for its resources” issue. The characters are stereotyped but the CEO who is in charge of the mission is trying to get a job done and is portrayed as actually NOT understanding the issues at hand. Eventually, by the end, he starts to get it. The movie portrays this as the laws of unintended consequences. Sometimes things are set in motion that cannot be stopped. Whatever the original motive was, it was not inherently “evil” it simply WAS. There’s definately a desire for profit but the corporate bigwig is not really portrayed as any kind of hard core bad guy.
False point 2: The “save nature” issue. This is a BIG PLOT SPOILER. Sorry but it’s important. The movie offers a massive olive branch to politics in this area. Instead of going all “Gaia” (Think Final Fantasy the movie) they offer a solid scientific reason why this particular area of the planet needs to be left alone. The spiritual aspect of the movie is fully explained by the end and makes complete sense. Also, based on the story told, there’s no particular reason that some OTHER part of the planet couldn’t have been mined it’s just that no one right up until the end understood that what these creatures worshipped was more than just faith. It was actually a “........” (not giving it all away).
So there you have it. In my opinion the movie’s story is not good enough to be easily rewatchable a thousand times like Star Wars but it certainly was not an unbearable endless global warming love fest like your average “made for Syfy channel” movie.
Go see it in 3D while you can. It’s a once in a lifetime experience and missing it would be a mistake.
Pretty much.
Exactly.
Well I saw the movie and don’t recall seeing those 17 million dollar blue breasts constantly bouncing around. Did I miss it? Additionally, and maybe it’s just me, but I don’t find the blue breasts of 10-foot aliens to be that, ah, aluring.
lol. I said it was weird.
lol!
I heard there's a really nice bridge in Florida you might want to check out.. and buy the way, the Bible has much more violence in it than this foolish movie.. I'm just saying.
So, yeah, I believe him when he says this.
Actually, many years ago, in his book Subliminal Seduction, Wilson Bryan Key pointed out, by way of already public interviews with appropriate people, that this is the modus operendi of Playboy; that this is their aim.
So this interview and it's contents don't surprise me at all. Cameron must have felt right at home there.
CA....
Kevin Jennings and Obama want to teach hard core sex to elementary school kids. That is just perverted.
Wow. Just freaking wow.

What you’re just saying is foolish, has no bearing o nanything in this thread, beyond perhaps, what appears to be some need for yourself to denigrate the Bible.
Is it that you don’t think kids can be misled by propaganda.. or maybe you think Hollywood doesn’t make movies with leftist themes or is it that you don’t think there are many stories of conquest and violence in the Bible..? and what makes you think mentioning that our Great Book tells accounts of the struggles of the tribes of Israel would be ‘denigrating’ it in any way..? Since you made your comments, I guess I have a right to ask..no?
What has the fact that the Bible does indeed tell of the struggles of Israel, which was, is now and probably will be violent have to to with Avatar?
Propaganda is one thing, Avatar, it can be argued, is that and can be misleading. Not so with the Bible. Comparing the contents of the Bible to an arguable propagandistic movie is denigrating.
I guess I see your point. What I was responding to was how Cameron was portraying the soldiers as capable of only violence as a way of condemning them and by association our troops and more broadly all violence as morally unjust. The Sigourney Weaver character was always harping on this theme. I don’t agree so I mentioned the Bible to point out that violence can and does occur in defense of morality.
Violence in support of Right is not immoral. I can defend my family or home with violence and be morally right. The Bible is many things: The infallible Word of God, a history book, a guide to right living, a guide to seek out God.
But many people try to malign that book by cherry picking parts for protraying the Bible as ‘unjust’ or ‘immoral’ or ‘contradictory’, or ‘violent’.
You take care FRiend. And I do pray that you know Jesus as your Savior. In the end, THAT is all that really matters.
Thank you for your prayer. You take care as well.
