Obama & Dems in 2005: Nuclear Option Is Arrogant Power Grab Against the Founder’s Intent!

Video compilation of whiny Democratic senators back in 2005 compaining about the use of the ‘Nuclear Option’, absolute power on both sides, and other legislative "options" which they now have the opportunity to invoke themselves. Biden: "I pray God when the Democrats take back control we don't make the kind of naked power grab you are doing.....it's an exapmple of the arrogance of power!" For once, I agree with Joe (stand up Chuck!) Biden. I think you've missed a few prayers there, Joe!

Well, in the interest of accuracy, I haven't heard a Dem yet call for the nuclear option, at least not publicly. All they have talked about is Budget Reconciliation.

If they go nuclear, they could pass the original House bill with just 50 votes. I don't see the US Senate doing that. They're not going to kill the filibuster forever, just to pass this.

If this monstrosity passes by reconciliation, then it can just as well be repealed that way. When and if Republicans take both houses, they can just attach a repeal to ANY funding bill. The president can either sign the bill or have the government shut down for lack of funds.

Of course, this fantasy assumes that Republicans actually have conservative principles, and backbone.

but I can dream, can’t I?

We have to make sure this never passes in the first place.
