You can take the Senator out of Massachusetts, but you can't take Massachusetts out of the Senator.
Sen. Scott Brown has always been a liberal Republican, so it isn't hard to understand why he voted for the new jobs bill proposed by Harry Reid. What is hard to comprehend is his lack of awareness and sense of responsibility towards those who put him into office. True, he had the backing of Republican status quo politicians Romney and McCain, but he also had conservatives from other states donating money to his campaign.
When I last wrote about Sen. Brown in the AT blog, he had just won a stunning victory in the special election against the favored Martha Coakley.

Agreed! The old “rush to judgment” routine. Surely we can wait till after the “summit” to pile on.
Considering how Brown saved us from 0bamacare the first time, I am willing to let this one slide. We can go on and on and on about how he “betrayed” us but the fact is if he had not won, 0bamacare would be law right now.
I am not surprised.
Scott Brown went on Boston talk radio and was apparantly shocked at the response he got from backing the jobs bill. Further testiment of how out of touch Mass politics is with most of the rest of the country.
Since something like 12 Republican senators voted for the jobs bill, it is unreasonable to blame Brown for it.
Scott Brown being from massachussets is not going to be your text book conservative.
It was exciting to have a Republican take the “Kennedy seat.”
One thing though, I wouldn’t be so quick to sterotype New Englanders. There are conservatives here. There are lots of em out here in Western New York at least. The problem we have is the big cities out vote us on just about everything. Just a few years ago there were rumblings about splitting NY state up into two seperate ones because we’re tired of having to subsidize NYC liberalness. Almost as soon as Pataki left, there was this huge vacuum of jobs and money getting sucked out of the Western Region headed east and I feel like I’m living in an economic wasteland.
Ann Kane is the first conservative I've heard say that. I'll give her a break. The title should remain plural. There must be a few more. The vast majority of those who say conservatives are disappointed, however, are liberals.
What reaction did he receive? For or against his vote?
Is Mass for or against the jobs bill ? Conservative radio?
Tell me more....did he feel he did the right thing for MA
or were they disappointed with him ?
How? If Brown votes the same way Kennedy would have, how is that better? This is where some people have a convoluted sense of reality.
MODERATES and rino's are useless in the republican party. We all know who this guy is, and that's not good for republicans. Unless Brown votes conservatively as he indicted in his campaigned he would, he's nothing but a loser, like Kennedy.
But, but I thought that (then) Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton was going to turn the upstate region into the second coming of the Industrial Revolution. Surely she did not renege on her promises!

You’re right, it’s not like he was the only Republican voting for it. There were more than a few with more conservative credentials than Brown who fell for the “Jobs Bill” when it rightfully should have been called the “Stimulus II Bill”.
Well, his vote sure shut the ‘Brown for POTUS 2012’ crowd up.
