Dems plan 'pain' for GOP if they drag out health debate

Democrats plan "pain" for Republicans who seek to slow or block passage of healthcare legislation, Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) said Wednesday night.

Brown said that if Republicans try to offer amendments and use parliamentary maneuvers to grind out the legislative process, Democrats would retaliate with all-night sessions and other methods of fighting back.

"I think they're going to try to do amendments, as many as they can get away with," Brown said Wednesday evening during an appearance on MSNBC. "I think we keep them here all night -- tonight, the next night, the next night, the next night."

"If they're going to try to filibuster in the traditional sense or the more modern sense that they do, they're going to have pain, too," Brown added.

Shouldn't the title have been. Revengeful Dems plan 'pain' for GOP if they drag out health debate. I'm from Ohio and I regret to say that Brown is my so called senator. These socialist dems either don't understand or don't care how big of a hole they're digging for themselves. They're drunk with power and are political gangsters.

Unfortunately, socialist Dems were elected by socialists in the population.

They are more than fourty percent, growing, and having the effect that has resulted in Democrat majorities in every branch of government.

The socialist Dems in Congress are no problem. It’s the socialist Dems in the population that are the problem.

Respectfully, IMHO.

Best Regards.

...so if they keep them there tonight, the next night, the next night and the next night...well then won’t the Dim-Dems have to be there also, sharing the “Pain”?

Personally, I would think that the Dems would be in such a state of clinical depression right now, that the Republicans would be in a much better position to continually work late nights.

So what, they are not going to ask for their input? What else can the rats do? Other than federally de-funding red states.

Go ahead rats, if you want to drag this out night after night, and just show the country how stupid and tyrannical you really are, then go for it, it only hurts your party.

And make sure Obama is there, and he is not allowed any smoke breaks.

Pain is pain. Dems will have to stay as well. And unless they send the seargent at arms, the republicans only need to leave a couple of people at a time to make sure nobody pulls a unanimous consent, and to carry on the amendment process.

Why do they think all night sessions would cause “pain”?

I’d roll in a cot and tell them “bring it on”. The Revolutionaries endured incredible pain in creating this country; I’m willing to endure a loss of sleep and some inconvenience to save it.

The dems are the ones that will bail on all night sessions. Nancy pelosi proved that plenty when the gop had proposals on the floor and when she refused to stay in session for gwb’s energy bill
