Dem Conspiracy to Replace Pelosi?
www.jedeckert.com ^ | March 5, 2010 | JedEckert2000

There may be nothing to this, but thought it was worth imparting. We spoke today to a highly-placed Democrat who thinks there might be a plot to, at the very least, show Nancy Pelosi that she is still a mere mortal. The speaker has been up and down the Hill threatening Democrats that they better stay in line on Obamacare or else lose their chairmanships, party support in upcoming elections, etc.

Allegedly, some of these members may not be willing to sacrifice their own political careers to save the Obama presidency. The possibility exists that a breakaway faction could threaten to vote with the Republicans on replacing Pelosi. The numbers would not be enough, but it could interject even more chaos into a party struggling to hold it together.

Just call her to ‘sacrifice herself for the cause’ by resigning, just like her call to the Dhims to sacrifice themselves.

I detest Pelosi! Many of us do. Watch out for Hoyer to make a move. Hoyer will stab Pelosi in the back in a “New York second” if he thinks he can become Speaker!

Interesting. Did she support Stark as Ways/Means chairman, and was she forced to replace him after 1 day?

‘a highly-placed Democrat’

When you can’t do better than that, it’s nothing but mere gossip and rumour mongering...

How to say this......Well, I guess the ole "dammed if they do and dammed if they don't", works okay.

Well, one thing I have observed in my 45 years here on earth is that politicians LOVE THEMSELVES more than anything, so it is possible that there may be some truth to this.

Couple that with the fact that so many of us have been praying that the Dem party will canibalize itself.

Dear Lord,

In the past year you have taken away my favorite actor (Patrick Swayze)

my favorite actress (Farah Fawcett)

my favorite musician (Michael Jackson) and

my favorite salesperson (Billy Mays).

I just wanted to let you know that my favorite legislator is Nancy Pelosi. Amen

No need for all that...
but if all the Dem committee chairs were to throw a bucket of water on her

the collapse would be attributable to 'natural causes'.

Dem Conspiracy?

What utter nonsense. Everyone knows that simply exposing her to daylight will do the trick. Why all the complexity?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speaker_of_the_United_States_House_of_Representatives

Election
The House of Representatives elects the Speaker of the House. Whoever receives a simple majority of the votes is elected and after election, is sworn in by the Dean of the House, the chamber’s longest-serving member. There is no requirement in the Constitution that the speaker must also be a current member of the House of Representatives to serve as speaker; however, every speaker elected has also been an elected representative.

In modern practice, the majority party chooses Speaker. It is usually obvious within two to three weeks of a House election who will be elected Speaker, and it is expected that members of the House vote for their party’s candidate. If they do not do so, they usually vote for someone else in their party or vote “present.”[citation

If they vote for the Republican nominee for Speaker, they essentially have to switch parties. I doubt more than one or two would actually go through with it.

If they lose the majority outright, then she could be deposed. Sam Rayburn became Leader, John McCormack moved down to Whip for the Dems. For the Reps, Charles Halleck stepped aside as Leader (Joseph Martin had been Speaker) when they lost majority.
