Former New York Times editor Howell Raines claims that a question has tugged at my professional conscience throughout the year-long congressional debate over health-care reform, to-wit, Why dont honest journalists take on Roger Ailes and Fox News? Which naturally raises the followup question, when did Howell Raines develop a professional conscience? Considering that the New York Times has been fabricating news for close to half a century, including a seamy plagiarism scandal while Raines was a Times editor, it is hard to conceive that he actually had one of those during his tenure. LOL! Thanks for the graphic!
honest journalist???? and new york times don’t go together
Imagine the viewership FOX could generate if it really WERE a conservative news network!!!
Tee hee. Howell Raines pretending that he has a conscience of any kind, let alone a “journalistic” conscience.
Come on now, was this posted on Scrappleface?
Actually, I like the mix it has now, conservatives like Hannity for those so inclined, plus libertarians like Judge Napolitano for us conservative-leaning libertarian types. Libertarian viewpoints get short shrift elsewhere, and there are a lot more of us than the media folks realize. So I think a purely-conservative Fox News lineup might lose viewers.
No, but maybe it should be. I like the “Scrappleface” monicker — seems an appropriate spot for the likes of Raines.
