Suddenly I feel the urge to start my own sect of Islam: the Lunni's. We'd meet in a converted tavern that hadn't been converted, and we'd study the perversions of infidels, such as erotic dancing, loud music, and an overabundance of good food ... all in the name of the Profit ... er, I mean ... Prophet. Women would be encouraged to attend, wearing our version of the burkha, which used to be called the "miniskirt." And we'd pore over the Koran, especially when doing Number Two in the bathroom, which would double that noble book's usefulness.
'Scuse me. Time for Happy Hour. Er ... I mean ... prayers.

health care sharing ministry ? Is that the mailing I get every so often, I think it's called medishare: it's for Christians, one pays a small premium ( like $200/month) and shares expenses, and prayers for those who need it ? I think it includes a high deductible insurance policy.
This could be a significant out.

In all seriousness, we should absolutely inundate the Gestapo with exemption requests. And then appeal them. And appeal the appeals. Tie this claptrap up in red tape until it strangles itself in the crib.

I was curious as to what a "health care sharing ministry" is so I Googled. Found this at
http://www.healthcaresharing.org/
What is a health care sharing ministry?
A health care sharing ministry (HCSM) provides a health care cost sharing arrangement among persons of similar and sincerely held beliefs. HCSMs are not-for-profit religious organization acting as a clearinghouse for those who have medical expenses and those who desire to share the burden of those medical expenses. These organizations are known as health care sharing ministries (HCSM).

This is just like the tax Islamic countries have on non-Muslims. I forget the name. This is insane and violates equal protection.
Why isn’t Drudge or others talking about this?

but muslims believe that insurance of any type is haraam (forbidden) because it is what they view as gambling. Correction: They "believe" it when it suits them. BTW, for mandatory car insurance the verdict is that it's haraam, but there's no sin on the individual because the state is forcing it (even though they could choose not to have a car and avoid it, but they get a sort of hardship exemption). Thus, this mandatory health insurance shouldn't be a problem.
To: silverleaf
Yes, and the American people might believe that if they understood the ramifications of their limits of faith.

This is insane and violates equal protection. Why isnt Drudge or others talking about this? It'll be a great argument to make in the current State Attorney Generals' lawsuits.

I wonder how many times “pro-life” voters across the fifty states have repeatedly voted for abortion candidates, both knowingly and unknowingly? I suspect it is a huge number. If so, that means very few Americans are truly “pro-life.” If pro-life views don’t keep them from voting for such liberal candidates, they are not really pro-life.

Okay, I am a Roman Catholic and abortion was, is, and forever will be against my faith.Sorry, but too many Catholics voted for this bill. They negated your exemption. Pay up!

Thanks for the info.
So any Muslim caught gambling in Las Vegas should automatically be compelled to buy health insurance?
