We Are All Bibi Netanyahu Now
Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion ^ | March 27, 2010 | William A. Jacobson

Posted on 03/27/2010 8:28:28 PM PDT by Ooh-Ah

The reaction to Obama's treatment of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin ("Bibi") Netanyahu was as strong if not stronger than I have seen in the comments here and elsewhere in the blogosphere on any other issue. (I didn't let through a number of over-the-top comments.)

Why this reaction? I bet a lot of the people having this reaction only had heard of Bibi Netanyahu in passing on the news.

Who would care if our President left a foreign leader to wait in the White House while the President supposedly went to have dinner with his family? Who would care if our President broke protocol by refusing to be photographed and hold a press conference with a foreign leader? Who would care if that foreign leader left tail tucked between his legs, humiliated at home at the treatment by the leader of the free world?

Part of it certainly is that the foreign leader in question was the leader of Israel, which is tremendously popular with Americans. In Israel the clear majority of Americans see a democratic nation surrounded by implacable enemies who also are our enemies, doing what it takes to survive and thrive. In so many historical, religious and political ways Israel is our kindred spirit, more than just one among many nations.

But that cannot explain the intensity of the reaction. Obama has shown disrespect for our British friends, with whom we share an even more intense historical relationship. There are very, very few countries in the world whose soldiers would die for us, and Britain is one of those countries. Yet the reaction to Obama's treatment of Britain has been muted.

I think the reaction to Obama's treatment of Bibi Netanyahu hits home because it was so personal in nature, and because it epitomized how the American people have been treated by Obama and the Democrats, with arrogance and disdain.

We have seen this attitude since the Inauguration, when Obama and the crowd treated George W. Bush with disrespect, in the smears by Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and other leading Democrats against health care protesters, in the daily attacks by the left-wing blogs and mainstream media against the Tea Party members, in the treatment of Sarah Palin and Trig Palin, in the bribes and budgetary chicanery used to pass a health care bill opposed by a significant majority of the population, and in the disgusting use of the race card to stifle legitimate political dissent.

In Bibi Netanyahu we see something we have lost in our leader, an unflinching sense of national destiny, an unapologetic pride in who we are and why we are, and a willingness to stand up to tyrants and neighborhood bullies regardless of the price.

To see a leader like Bibi Netanyahu treated so shabbily by someone who treats us the same way was too much to bear.

The story of how Obama treated Bibi Netanyahu at the White House was a familiar story, which is why it has caused such a strong reaction.

So in addition to giving Israel over 2.5 billion in foreign aid, we are also loaning them money.

I was not aware of this.

The only pass I would give to this shabby conduct by Zer0 is that this was a diversion tactic. Maybe Zer0 and Bibi were hatching out a plan to do a surprise attack on Iran’s nuke sites. You wouldn’t want Bibi and Zer0 coming out of such talks hugging and lovey dovey. It would put the Iranians on alert.

“Yet the reaction to Obama’s treatment of Britain has been muted.”

I can only think this is because it happened right at the start of his term. I think it was chalked up to beginner’s stupidity, although it was quite an amazing level of stupidity and made me wonder about our gov’t.

I mean, I always thought there were a bunch of people around to advise whatever dope might get elected pres. on how to behave. Maybe not.

But then again, maybe the big O just doesn’t listen.

Nevertheless I highlight this sentence so I can state for the record that I have called the WH on several occasions and each time I have complained about O’s treatment of PM Brown and Britain itself.

I’m probably going to call one more time, because I think this man is hopeless and I’m on the verge of thinking he’s dangerous.

So, I’m sort of waiting to see if they try and shove amnesty down our throats before I use that last call.

Of course the author is correct in his assessment.

Besides, it’s the Jewish democrats who should be calling. They voted for this nincompoop. I hope THEY’VE gotten the message, Obama hates Israel and he hates the middle class and he loves the Muslim world. But, perhaps it’s still eluding them.

I’m just annoyed with myself because I never really realized about how much damage one person could do in 4 years.

We’ve really got to work hard to win as many seats in November as we possibly can. Sorry third party people, we’re going to have to fight this next leg via the Republican machine. But we’ve got to take as much power away from Obama as fast as we can. If we’re lucky he’ll go all petulant and sit on his hands for the last 2 years of his unhappy term.

Sorry to go on and on.

I’ve posted about Omoslem’s hatred of Jews, but then today I suddenly realized....

I don’t want to hear any American Jews whining about this MOSLEM for whom 78% of them voted.

If Israelis want to complain about HUSSEIN, that’s fine. But American Jews should just shut up and learn how to vote for NON-Moslems.

Giving them all sorts of attention after they vote a Hamas-endorsed MOSLEM into office just encourages them to do another idiotic stunt.

This November, we can go down the road to end the abusive relationship with the democrats and then give them the boot in 2012. We the People are the victims of this abuse !

Treats friendly leader like crap and bows down to the leaders who hate us with a passion.

Remember this foreign policy idiocy? Only Obama could be so stupid, inept, egotistical, irresponsible, unwise......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbB_fhC8Ppk

It gets really interesting at about 3:15 into the video. Sarkozy is very worried at Obama’s leadership ability, or rather the lack thereof. Pray for America.

Another quote: “The International Community is beginning to become aware......that his ego gets in the way of him learning anything about why he is wrong on these things.”

My perception is that the US gives foreign aid to the Israelis to buy influence on its foreign policies. These grants and aid packages were agreed to during the Camp David Accords, partially as sop to the Israelis to convince them to give up the Sinai. In retrospect, I don’t think it worked out to be a good deal for us or the Israelis. Egypt made out OK.

Good point. As much as I love Israel, the US needs to stop its unconstitutional doling out of our own $ in foreign aid. People who call themselves “conservative” may think I am anti-Semitic or Arab-friendly in saying that, but the fact of the matter is that foreign aid is illegal under the Constitution, PERIOD...regardless of where it goes or how good it is intended to be.

Our aid to Israel (most of which is in the form of loan guarantees that they always pay back in full) amounts to around $2.5 billion/yr.

ONLY $2.5 billion, huh? At what point do we begin talking about REAL money?

Con you point out the clause in the Constitution that permits the fedgov to spemd taxpayer $ in the form of foreign aid?

You're letting your emotions get the better of you. First of all, I never said "only" $2.5 billion. I merely pointed out that the $2.5 bil is only tiny fraction of Israel's GDP, and that they'd survive just find without the aid. Secondly, I never advocated U.S. taxpayer dollars going anywhere.

How about the 22% who didn't vote for him. Do they, according to you, have a right to criticize the commie-in-chief? Should all the conservative, long-time GOP-voting Jews on FR (of whom there are many hundreds) and well-known conservative Jewish columnists and talk radio hosts just shut their pieholes and watch Obama & Co. destroy the country without speaking out in opposition?

And how about conservative blacks? As you probably know, well over 90% of blacks voted for Hussein-O. In your opinion, should the blacks who were brave, clear-headed, and principled enough to go against the grain and vote against Obama not speak out in opposition just because the vast majority of folks with similar skin pigmentation voted for him?

I'd take a deep breath and reconsider your position.

I guess when I say “just shut up,” I really mean “Talk less, do more.”

I think any group that voted 78% (or 90%) for Omoslem needs to take a long hard look at themselves. Then take action like it’s DEFCON 1. Because for Israel, it is.

They need to get their own house in order.

If 78% of American Jews voted for Omoslem, and they did, the other 22% need to hit every retirement home in South Florida and knock some sense into their majority this election season.

Why? Because in October 2008, Jewish “Obama Zombies” flew to South Florida from Los Angeles, etc, and drummed the seniors until they forgot Omoslem was endorsed by Hamas. Then, they voted for him en masse.

Honestly, American Jews need to do more than make noise to other conservatives. 22% is cute, but it’s not making me feel warm or fuzzy.

Will they “swing the election” if they convince 100% of Jews? No, but they can affect fundraising and perhaps put the kibosh on this Israel bashing. Things have slid so far out of control, I cannot believe what I’m seeing.

As for the blacks, they’re hopeless. No, not every single one, but as a voting bloc, they’re a disaster. Look at Detroit — they keep voting for that. Look at DC — they voted for a known crackhead, Marion Barry. Such people are beyond reach.

We are at the mercy of God, now. When America becomes an enemy of Israel then America will cease to be.

This is a matter of Daily prayer and has been my heart's cry.
Please God, let us not be numbered among the enemies of Israel!

I have no problem sending funding to Israel...Israel and our support of her is the only thing in the middle east preventing those nations from nuclear war...they would be on each other in a heart beat for land and oil the other one has. Iran has always wanted Iraq and to attain leadership over other middle east countries.

If they were ever successful using nuclear and otherwise chemical war between countries the USA and Europe would not be exempt from that fallout. It is in our interest to arm and send funding to Israel.
