Duke Chooses Censorship

Malcolm A. Kline, March 30, 2010

That citadel of diversity in Durham, N. C., does not want to carry tolerance too far. “Duke University made it to the Final Four in college basketball this weekend and officials there apparently think it’s all right to root for the team, but not to use the campus women’s center if you’re pro-life,” Life News reported on March 29, 2010. “Duke officials prevented the pro-life group on campus from using the facility for an event on motherhood.”

“The Duke University Women’s Center has canceled an event about motherhood because the sponsor was engaging in pro-life expression elsewhere on campus. A Women’s Center representative told Duke Students for Life (DSFL) that ‘we have a problem’ and an ideological ‘conflict’ with the event, which was supposedly canceled to protect Duke women from encountering the event during the group’s ‘traumatizing’ pro-life ‘Week for Life.’”...

The opposing team must win by 10-15 points to overcome the
refs bias!

Given Duke’s abysmal performance, I’m afraid that I would not even consider a Duke grad for my group. Even though their science and engineering departments are undoubtedly of much higher IQ than any of their social marshmallow departments, methinks that the liberal slime has infected all contained within their sorry walls.

Mike Adams has a terrific thread on the laughably hypocritical DU (interesting acronym, eh?) too: Your Mom Goes To Duke ....

I went to the Baylor Duke game on Sunday. They showed George Bush Sr at the game. When he came on the camera, he was near the Duke player section and you could hear them start to react negatively and then the whole mostly Baylor crowd drown them out with loud cheers for the former President.

It was great.

Are you saying the Duke players..were reacting negatively?

Or did you mean the Duke student section?

Feminazis rule the roost at Duke, as at all university campuses. How long can they remain angry at God for making them female?

Duke showed it’s true colors in the lacrosse incident, enough said.

Great story, thanks for sharing. Too bad Baylor didn't finish them on the court too, but major kudos to Baylor for a terrific season and 2010 NCAA tournament performance! At least one team did Texas proud!

They are angry at God for making them female? Goodness, is there some truth to Freud’s theories about women having envy of things that males have that they don’t?

Political correctness is the key to all of this. The same university which hounded the guys about that stripper rape case can’t abide a motherhood seminar.

I’ve often wondered about the stripper case. If it was a white stripper with black men in that case, would it have been handled differently?

And Crystal Gale Magnum has been in trouble with the law since. Of course that doesn’t get too many headlines.

Interesting. The DU website lists several options for student pregnancy including abortion.

You have to search for women’s health. The site link is removed.
