President Barack Obama and his band of hopey-changers are not going to appreciate the findings of a recent nationwide poll of nearly 800 main household grocery shoppers which reveals, by a very sizeable margin, that American consumers appear to be at odds with recent reports that the economy has improved.

Eight out of ten supermarket shoppers see no improvement in the economy, and forty percent actually believe things have gotten worse. As consumers continue to cope, the study affirms, the appeal of store brand products is stronger than ever and may even be intensifying.

Among the study highlights:

The findings are based on a poll conducted in February 2010 by GfK Custom Research North America for the Private Label Manufacturers Association, New York. The full report, entitled "Recession, Recovery and Store Brands" is available for download here.

Improvement in the economy??? Seriously?? The other shoe hasn’t dropped just yet. My salary next year will again go down by nearly $2000.00 (and, if my employer gets their way, I will lose approximately 25% of my current salary next year). On top of this, the ObozoCare bill will be adding at least $300.00 a month to the cost of my out of pocket health care. So, I will lose at least $2000.00 a year with another $3000.00 taken out of my salary because of the liberals redistrubution of wealth push, and we live month to month already.

It has got worse. Food prices continue to rise and now that HC has passed and the added expensive we will face when all of the companies add on that expense I think many will find they are far poorer than they were before!

I keep seeing stories about growth in the fourth quarter, and there are lots of container ships in Asia that are filled with goods heading to the US, and productivity is up, and we're losing fewer jobs now, and on and on and on.

I believe none of it.
