So, how does this work? The GOP says: “We’ve heard you, we’ll listen to you for a little while, until you’re not upset anymore?”

We'll see what this looks like. But it will be easy for the Dems to point out that items in the "Contract with America" ultimately weren't implemented. The GOP needs to state that this is a two-part process - first, they get back Congress, then the WH in 2012. The reality is that they will only be able to put the brakes on Obama's destruction of this country for the first two years, and will only have success implementing their own agenda once a GOP president is in place.

“Probably the latter since you sound like you have juvenile thinking.”

I see, healthy skepticism is juvenille, while slavish loyalty in the face of repeated disappointment is mature?

Right.

This is no time for reprising age-old bromides no matter how sound they are. Someone needs to come in and upset the table screaming, “Game’s over”. Obama and his comrades need to be called out as Commies who hate America, hate capitalism, hate free markets, hate religion unless it’s Islam, and who are poised to kill America as we know it. Americans need to be taught the evils of Communism and how to defeat it. It may require bloodshed but America is worth it.

Commitment.

Ever wonder, why the only two places where the word is used is either - when you get sent to the funny farm or, engage in matrimony.

There is not much choice at this time. The rat party is completely hopeless. About half the GOP is fairly worthless and the rest range from barely acceptable to pretty good. The only avenue for achieving anything like a return to Constitutional principles is through the GOP. There is some chance of moving the GOP farther right in the upcoming election but more than a few of the worthless sort will be the only alternative to the rat candidate.

Therefore:

1. Contribute time and money to the most conservative candidate in the primary.

2. Vote for any ‘R’ over any ‘D’ in the general.

3. Repeat in 2012 and into the foreseeable future.

Only an engaged and informed electorate can bring about any worthwhile result in these upcoming elections. If we truly value the Constitution we must not let up. Ever. That is the lesson of the past 75 years. We can be sure that the leftist enemies of this nation won’t back off one inch.
