On Friday, April 16, 2010 thousands of public schools around the country will permit students and teachers to refuse to speak during class during a political event sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) called the Day of Silence which is intended to increase society's affirmation of homosexuality and Gender Identity Disorder. A national coalition of pro-family organizations is asking parents to call their children out of school on the Day of Silence if their school permits students and/or teachers to remain silent during class.

OMG! Don’t they have a parade or something to plan? Leave the children out of this - let them be children. How is it that the same people who are always yammering about “it’s for the children, we need to protect the children”, are the same people who try to push this agenda. I wouldn’t want the kids exposed to heterosexual activities either. Stop trying to destroy their innocence!

This is why I send my girls to a private, conservative Catholic School instead of driving an Escalade. The payments are the same and I dont need a Caddy. Plus, the added bonus of my girls saying “Good Morning, Sister” when they see the pricipal in the hallway.

Now if only more parents would have the same attitude. Oh and kudos to the homeschoolers out there, too.

Why do homosexuals obsess over little kids? Does it give them a cheap thrill to mess with young heads?

Actually, I wish every day was a day of silence for homosexual activists.

If the teachers are going to refuse to speak during class to push a political agenda, then they can just stay home and take a personal day to engage in their political activism.

I agree. If they just kept their mouths shut, that would improve the chances for normal people to learn reading, writing, algebra, chemistry ...

But but but we were told that Lawrence v. Texas was only about consenting adults in private.

Here it is in public schools being forced into the laps of minors.

Teachers and students will be silent in solidarity. This is not the same as “silence is golden”.

“If the teachers are going to refuse to speak during class to push a political agenda, then they can just stay home and take a personal day to engage in their political activism.”

Outrageous, isn’t it? Teachers get an easy work day. That’s all that matters. It’s a sick bribe to lazy teachers.

This is not just indoctrination—it’s child abuse. If I were a parent of a child who is subjected to this kind of emotional and psychological abuse, I would raise bloody hell.

I can see teaching them not to hurt/harm other kids who are overly nelly etc...

But these kids definately don’t need: “Intro to Fisting 101”
along side Reading Writing and ‘Rithmatic.

Plus there is no need to teach kids about this sort of stuff until they are are in thier teens, middle to late teens. And only teach them the basics, let them know if they have questions they can ask the councillor or a family member.

No need to force the agenda down everyone else’s throats.

If the kids are young, then keep ‘em home. If they’re old enough to understand what the agenda is, tell ‘em that they can go to school and be as LOUD and boisterous as they feel like being. If any of the teachers take offense, tell the kids to have them call you and you can take great joy in telling them just what they can do with their support for fudgepackers and carpetmunchers. And let them know that if they want to take any action against your children or you, your lawyer will be having a nice delivery of a bunch of typed papers for them real soon. And don’t back down.

Noise would be a LOT better than silence. I’d love to hear their explanation to the judge: “Well, your honor, we were being silent and refusing to speak and do our job in support of a political event for gays. And they weren’t playing fair. They talked!”
