I learned the hard way that human nature is the biggest obstacle to cutting health care costs. President Obama is not the first chief executive to foist onto us an unrealistic medical reform.
I left Nebraska to become Medical Director of a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) in Louisiana in 1980. I believed the myths of managed care promoted by the smart guys. Health insurance premiums were spiraling up, and business and industry were concerned. People wanted good insurance cheap. Managed care was the answer.
The Nixon administration wrote the Health Maintenance Act of 1973, funding and promoting managed care by a non-profit community-controlled, federal benefit package, one community premium, no limits on preexisting conditions, preventive care, comprehensive care, first dollar coverage health care. To help them get started, the law said that a federally qualified HMO under the act could mandate an offer to an employee group

Great article but a little late...why wasn’t the good doctor screaming from the rooftops six months or a year ago? Mark Levin asked on his show one day why the so called conservatives in Congress didn’t scream louder and longer before this pos passed. Did they really pull out all the stops? Did they walk out of Congress en masse in protest? No. Did they pick apart all aspects of the plan in a prime time special? A series of YouTube videos even? No. Instead they seemed disorganized and disjointed in their response to the Democratic Juggernaut with one off efforts like the mall rally and the Capitol Hill event. They allowed Obama to sucker punch them repeatedly.
You are correct about the elected Republicans not making enough noise.
My question is, “Why didn’t they make more noise?”
As for my household, we are no longer donating to the RNC. We are giving our little bit to opponents of the incumbents.
Even without checking their votes and statements?
That's a "wheel spin" position.
A politicians who run on the platform of impeaching Obama and repealing the Health Care scam will win landslides.
That's all they have to say
I've asked the REPUB callers recently how in the world can you guys support crap like Lyndsey Grahnesty? Until they rid us of RINO's like him, I contribute only to candidates (see above).
Based upon your screen name, it would seem that you would not contribute to ANY politician.
To get that control you must elect a majority or near majority of the members of the House or Senate.
Too many people didn't go to vote for Republicans so we don't have a majority or near majority, and no control of the legislative agenda.
If you want control you must vote.
BTW, it's also stupid to "punish the Republican party" by withholding contributions.
We have checked their statements. Are in touch with them. Who said I didn’t check?
