Fred Malek: Palin’s not doing what she needs to do to run

Who’s Fred Malek and why should you care? Think of him as sort of the Beltway-insider equivalent of John Ziegler. Like Ziegs, he’s a Sarahcuda defender par excellence, and like Ziegs, he doesn’t think she’s angling for a serious shot at the presidency. From a WaPo profile last year describing him as “the authority on Palin”:

Has Malek not seen the impact Sarah has had on the issues with her speeches, Facebook posts, and op-eds? Where has he been? She made Obama mention her by name over the nuclear issue, and her Facebook "death panels" nearly derailed Obamacare. What other potential GOP presidential candidate is out there taking on the Obama regime? Plus does he know that the presidential race won't kick off until after the mid-terms? Why put the cart before the horse?

She’s certainly not helping herself by supporting flaming socialist McAmnesty.

LOL. That’s a non-issue now which will have no impact on her future ambitions.

To win, Sarah would have to build name recognition, and I rarely hear mention of her in more than one or two stories per day on the morning and evening news, on Sunday morning interview shows, in White House press conferences, on her schedule for speeches in 20 states, or in discussions in a business settingTo win, she would have to build a reputation for understanding a broad range of issues, from nuclear weapons and defense to health care and the Constitution, and I rarely hear more than two or three sensible positions that she has taken on those issues in a particular day. No, the libs can relax, she’s not on track to run for office.

“What other potential GOP presidential candidate is out there taking on the Obama regime?”

::::::::

I was asking this the other night, while watching her. Where are the potential candidates with ANY GUTS??? Regardless of what her actual plans are, at least she is TRYING and having a positive impact on getting the Repubs focused on the issues for 2010 and 2012. I just do not get these “Sarah detractors” and their mindless picking at her? They should open their eyes and their ears and get on the bandwagon too. And the Repubs had better get moving soon on a coordinated effort for 2010 -— attacking and exposing Obama and his ilk for what they are -— and get their alternatives defined and advertised. This should not be a difficult effort — Obama is not hiding his corruption, his agenda, and his disdain for America.

“To win, Sarah would have to build name recognition”

Welcome to FreeRepublic.

You might want to take a look at some polls lol. Out of all the possible GOP candidates, Palin’s name recognition is very high, one of the top 2-3.

If my lawn gets too dry, maybe then I’ll listen to a “rainmaker”. Otherwise, I think Sarah Palin will be just fine following her own course, wherever it leads.

BTW, if you know anything about Fred Malek, then you know he is an insider, who supports Mitt Romney.

There were some PR articles written about how he liked Palin etc., some time ago. However, he is with Romney and hardly has credibility in detracting from one of Romney’s possible competitors.

Just how many offices has Malek been elected to? I think Sarah, who's been elected to both Mayor and Governor, may just know what she's doing.

Any other Presidential hopeful would be thrilled with the exposure and name recognition that Sarah Palin has.

Who else is getting even one or two stories per day? Who else has come forth with anything remotely fulfilling your checklist?

Who has even declared at this point?

Might want to read Pollster's post again.

I am not quite sure what planet you've been living on dude, but Sarah Palin has more name recognition than any other politician in this country, with the exception perhaps of 0bozo. Even so, I think she has as much name recognition as 0bozo does. Heck she consistently gets higher ratings when she appears on TV than 0bama does, and when she appears for political rallies across the country, she is pulling in up to three times the crowds that 0bama gets. Her book has already outsold either of 0bama's books by at least twice.
How do you even come up with this stuff?

She needs to be a true mavrick and not align herself with the rinos like mccain and romney and steele

If she wants to really be in a position to win she has to act as a leader and not an extension of the gop rinos.

Unless she does that she has no chance whatsoever.

The post is clueless, beginning with his statement that Palin needs to build “name recognition”.

That is absurd.

What’s most interesting to me in that year-and-a-half-old article is that Malek puts Haley Barbour in the third spot, even way back then. Because what I picked up from the MSNBC clip is how close it sounds Malek is to Barbour, and it was reported that Barbour hosted a day-long confab in MS with his close supporters just this week to talk about his possible presidential run. I think Barbour’s got Malek tied up for now at least.

Sarah Palin is more out front with speeches in several states a week also Canada the other evening.
Her several articles on FB with up to the minute discussion
of the issues.
OpEds in WallStreet Journal, to WaPo.

No other WannaBie has the name recognition, or speaking to the issues or drawing and energizing the crowds Sarah Palin does.

Nice catch.
A few things that caught my attention in that article:
South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, who is popular among fiscal conservatives, ranked second on Malek’s list. Sanford recently attended a dinner with major GOP donors at Malek’s McLean, Va., home
-snip-
At No. 5, Malek lists a group of four moderate Republicans who are eying Senate races: Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, former New York Gov. George Pataki, Illinois Congressman Mark Kirk and Delaware Congressman Mike Castle”
-snip-
Palin, who ranked sixth on Malek’s list..

Sanford at # 2, then Crist and Mark Kirk at # 5, before Sarah Palin, at # 6 on Malek’s list?
Malek doesn't seem to have much of a clue when it ciomes to picking the GOP candidate for 2012 does he? His second pick, Mark Sanford proceeded to self destruct before our very eyes, not long after Malik picked him as the second most likely to win the GOP nomination in 2012. And who in their right minds, would pick Mark Kirk before Sarah Palin in any GOP candidate rankings for 2012?

Since when is an unknown greasy sociopath a "Kingmaker?" We could solve the oil shortage by squeezing this slimeball's head in an olive press.

Please refrain from posting "shitholes-for-hire" in the future.
