President George Washington 'borrowed' the legal reference book "Law of Nations or Principles of Natural Law" and never returned it to the library in New York, GW now owes huge fine, Got natural born Citizen!?
Via Commander Kerchner; There was a news account recently that President George Washington 'borrowed' the legal reference book "Law of Nations or Principles of Natural Law" and never returned it to the library in New York and now owes a huge past due fine on that book. This new current events story ties into the importance of that book to George Washington and the other founders. Attached is an image and an the account what the new President was doing with the book in 1789 in New York. The new President was found consulting that book by visitors to his office on his first day in office after the inauguration of him in New York in 1789. New York was then the capital of the USA. See attached highlighted section of the history book, This Was New York, The Nation's Capital in 1789, by Monaghan & Lowenthal, published by Books for Libraries Press of Freeport NY. The Law of Nations by Vattel is a very important legal treatise and was very important to the founding of our nation. It was first published in 1758. The Law of Nations is mentioned in our Constitution. The "Law of Nations or Principles of Natural Law" which is its full name was the preeminent legal treatise of the last half of the 1700s and was depended on heavily by the Revolutionary Patriots in the founding of our nation. Benjamin Franklin cited that it was being heavily used during the Constitutional Conventions when he received three new copies of the newest circa 1775 edition from the editor Dumas in Europe. And John Jay the 1st Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court cited it often. This legal book was cited many times by the various U.S. Supreme Courts in the 1800s and much of it became the common law of our land via Supreme Court decisions citing the wisdom conveyed in this book. And it is this legal treatise by Vattel which defines who the "naturel" citizens are, i.e., the "natural born Citizens" of a country, i.e., a person born in the country to two citizen parents of that country. This was the law of nature and Vattel codified it in his book Law of Nations or Principles of Natural Law. This book was the source of the wisdom which prompted John Jay to write to George Washington, presiding officer of the Constitutional Convention in the summer of 1787, and request that the requirement of "natural born Citizenship" be put into the new Constitution as an eligibility standard for the office of the President and commander of the military, for future holders of that office after the original generation past, to minimize any chances of foreign influences on that singular most powerful office in our new nation. The founders and framers in their wisdom anticipated the day would come when a citizen of the world funded by foreign money would attempt to take over America. That day has come. Obama is not a natural born Citizen of the USA. He was born a subject of Great Britain. He is not Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 constitutionally eligible to be the President and Commander in Chief of the military for exactly the reasons John Jay stated to George Washington in the summer of 1787. Obama is a Usurper in the Oval Office.
Well, no wonder no one pays attention any more! It should really be returned.
Just more evidence of the truth that is becoming overwhelming: the founding fathers meant that Barack Obama and anyone else born with foreign parents, especially a foreign father, must not be Commander in Chief.
For all they know President Washington donated the book to the library in the first place.

Yes, it is obviously clear the return of the book was interrupted acutely by an untimely illness actuating his death.
It's no accident that these article meant to disparage the Father of this nation actually point to the disqualification of the current usurper in the White House. Your post makes this clear. It's almost as if Washington is speaking from the grave.
Great find. This debunks the faither canard that the founders wouldn’t have had access or known about the “Law of Natinos.” More proof that the founders didn’t strictly follow English common law when it came to U.S. citizenship.

I wonder if this was an English translation, or in the original French. If it's in French or if a translation that used the "natural born citizen" language, rather than the earlier British translation, which did not and was really pretty badly done, at least in that particular section.

Shows that the book was in demand circa the era the Constitution was written.
Annuit coeptis! Evidence that our nation’s founders turned to this book as their authority! It defines a natural born citizen so as to exclude the son of a foreigner.
It’s almost like Washington is reaching out from the grave to smackdown Obama.
The librarian reported that Vattel was one of the main sources consulted by the delegates during the First Continental Congress,
which met from Sept. 5 to Oct. 26, 1774.
Charles W.F. Dumas, an ardent supporter of the American cause, printed an edition of {The Law of Nations} in 1774,
with his own notes illustrating how the book applied to the American situation.
In 1770, Dumas had met Franklin in Holland, and was one of Franklin's key collaborators in his European diplomacy.
He sent three copies to Franklin, instructing him to send one to Harvard University, and to put one in the Philadelphia library.
Franklin sent Dumas a letter, Dec. 9, 1775, thanking him for the gift.
Franklin stated, ``I am much obliged by the kind present you have made us of your edition of Vattel.
It came to us in good season, when the circumstances of a rising state make it necessary frequently to consult the law of nations.
Accordingly, that copy which I kept, has been continually in the hands of the members of our congress, now sitting ...|.''
