Salt is also a preservative. Don’t put enough salt in certain foods that are canned or packaged, you end up with bad food that’ll make you sick. Or the shelf life will be cut drastically. This is not good.

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I did not speak out;
I was not a Jew.

When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out.

You think this is bad? Wait until they tag every head of livestock and follow it from birth to slaughterhouse.

This may sway independents, but what a lot of people don’t realize is the mindset of leftists that this is good.

It is amazing how they feel the government SHOULD be invested with this power. I have a liberal family member, love her dearly, talking to her is sometimes like being in the twilight zone.

After all, why shouldn’t the government protect you from everything it can? Allowing entities to endanger your life is denying you your rights. Allowing injustices to happen is the same. Corporations have more money than God. The government SHOULD put the burden on them, to protect you. That’s the mindset. And it’s so strange.

I have posted about this a couple of times before:

With the state of our current technology, I can see the Government handing out Monthly, or Quarterly, debit cards for the purchase of only food.

In conjunction with the mandatory health crap, you will be allowed to purchase only certain types, and quantities of items in a grocery store, and this will be tracked on the data base to ensure you do not exceed your Government-set limit for the month.

This makes for total control because if you make a Government employee or politician mad they can cancel or suspend your account and starve you and your family until you bow to their wishes and whims.

The advancement of our technology, and they wealth we still have, has the ability to make the Soviets look like pikers when it comes to the total control of every aspect of peoples’ lives.

This country is essentially a communist country and it didn’t just happen under Obama.

If anyone around here thinks its nap time after November, you’re a clueless moron. It’s been about a century of progressive attacks on liberty that have brought us to where we are.

But hey, if you accept that a government can regulate marijuana, cocaine or other drugs, why not vitamins, herbs, meat, cheese, milk, etc?

It’s all to help you. They have to safe you from yourself. You could kill yourself with those things!

You can’t accept any bit of the nanny state or it will grow like the cancer it is.

To take this to its logical extreme, no more kitchens in homes. Everyone is issued rations of government approved MRE-lites.

“If you’re still not convinced that Obama’s socialism will take over your life, then think further about the social burden theory.”

So, by this reasoning, you will be required to do the standard level of exercise - but no more! For those of you who like to do marathons, triathlons, or other athletic endeavors, not only is that risky due to overuse injuries, but also not fair that you be in better shape than average. Unless of course you are a member of a national sports team to be used for propaganda advantage (and get juiced with whatever chemicals that are not yet detectable by WADA, think the amazing sports programs of the glorious DDR).

Not to mention food inequality (see obamacare). National Food Care or Nutritional Reform will fix the problem of unfair disadvantages of our food distribution. We just want to spread the food around. Nationalize the (all) grocers and insure that regulators allow or disallow what you (92% of the country) can have so that the disadvantaged (8%) get theirs. Then open the borders. Like fries with that?

The Roman Legions were paid with salt. The word salary derives form this practice.

Now Obama and his thugs plan to control our salt as well as our salary!

Amazing what history teaches us.

If this isn't the dictatorship of the proletariat you need to read the works of Marx, Engles, Lenin and Hitler!

The food manufacturers are reducing salt content on their own now, the consumers are demanding low sodium products and they are providing those products and more and more to come down the pipeline. Regulation isn’t needed.

Will the manufacturers have enough time to deliver what the consumer and government is demanding before expensive regulation hoops - draconian taxation and hefty industrial funding for health deities and dictates? Who knows? This government works very fast in the ScareStreamMedia.

I find it interesting that the government isn’t on a Fiber regulation scare - maybe it’s because the industry is way ahead of the curve and is adding Fiber to just about everything...if the companies didn’t raise fiber on their own I bet you a buck there would be Media Scare stories on fiber and how regulations on fiber would be a welcome addition to the nanny state..

In Vladimir Voinovich's satiric novel Moscow 2042 future Russians were told that true communism would be achieved when "primary matter" (food) equaled "secondary matter"(feces). Perhaps coming yet in our own country.
