When George W. Bush was President, Susan Rice blasted the administration for being weak about Darfur. Now, shes President Obamas United Nations ambassador and Team Obama is no longer interested in Darfur.
News reports this week said, several human rights organizations called on Obama to step up pressure on the Sudanese government with the election marking a critical juncture in the countrys potential path toward peace. U.S. Sudan policy is, in effect, promoting abuses and impunity, when it does not go beyond statements of regret and move towards true consequences and pressures...
Rice wrote that she wanted the situation in Darfur to get more attention, and military action! ConservativeAmerican.org noted in December of 2008 that the anti-war, lets just stay home, democrats might not like this Rice appointment... When it was Bush in charge, Rice said she wanted Congress to authorize the use of force to end genocide in Darfur, including strikes against Sudanese military locations... She also wanted Bush to use the US Air Force to enforce a no fly zone over Darfur...
She hasnt asked Obama to do (any of) that!..."
So did Susan Rice just suddenly become uninterested in Darfur?

Hey, if Rice is now against getting sucked into a Darfur quagmire, she deserves praise. I don’t care whether she is a hypocrite. I only care that she does the right thing in the end.
Darfur only matters when it can be exploited for political capital against Republicans. Just more hypocrisy from the left.
