We’ve all been shocked and saddened by the tragic events in the Gulf of Mexico. My heart breaks for coastal residents who are facing fears of the unknown impacts of the oil spill.

As an Alaskan, I can speak from the heart about the tragedy of an oil spill. For as long as I live, I will never forget the day the Exxon-Valdez ran aground on Bligh Reef and millions of gallons of North Slope crude poured into the waters of our beautiful Prince William Sound. The spill was devastating to so many Alaskans who, like my own family, make their living on the water from our commercial fishing industry. “Heartbreaking” was the word my husband Todd, an Alaska Native and trained oil spill responder, used to describe the scene as we watched it unfold on land and water that we feel is sacred....

The loons are out on Sarah now saying STOP all Drilling - of course none of them realize that means they'll have to stop driving cars to their kid's soccer games.

Keeping industrial civilization going is a complex, hard, often dirty and frequently dangerous business. An honest leader levels with the people who benefit from all that work and says so. Accidents will happen, but what’s the alternative? No electricity, no cars, no planes, no TV, no Internet, no nothing, basically. Return to subsistence farming, no modern conveniences, no clean water, none of the amenities people have come to expect as their right. That’s your choice folks. There’s no free lunch.

I’m from Texas, it’s already understood that it’s gonna be real bad but trust me on this, it’s gonna create a whole lot of good paying jobs cleaning it up.

I’m still not convinced that his wasn’t sabatoge, Obama wins in all scenarios. He shuts down big oil & takes credit for all the clean-up jobs.

And it cost him nothing.

Then Obama gets to pass a new energy bill without the Va. off-shore plan.

Obama passing that earlier was contrary to everything he’s ever said about drilling. Then all the sudden he changes his mind? yea right,

He knew this was coming.

Obama want the United States to be like Europe. But Europe is a decadent civilization. By the year 2100, it will be just a name on a map, since the Europeans have given up having babies. Except for the Muslims.
