Torpedoes would make sense for the results we see. The platform exploded, despite redundant safety features; plus, something apparently also happened on the Gulf floor at the opening of the well to prevent engineers from being able to stop the flow of oil from it. Two topedoes launched from a submarine could cause those things to happen.

Oil rigs are perfectly capable of exploding on their own without help from a submarine. Just sayin’.
The truth is out there...
Torpedoes at a depth of 5000 feet to damage the blowout preventer?
I still want to know why Obama said that we are sending SWAT teams to oil rigs in the Gulf (not just the one that blew up, but apparently all of them)? What are they supposed to be doing there?
Look! All you people need to know is that Preaident Obama’s Regime Inherited this Mess!!
What are the chances of a Sub making it into the Gulf? Drilling that deep has its risks although BP is as good as it gets. We will never know.
Pray for America
Given the Earth Day observance at the same time, I suspected some greenie involvement as an effort to stop all offshore drilling.
On a side note. My grandparents lived in Daytona Beach during WWII. I remember hearing a lot of stories about the German U-Boats sinking our supply ships off the coast. They would come out of the gulf, around the southern tip of FL and head north to join the convoys. They had black outs every night to prevent the silhouette of the ship from being seen off shore by the Germans, however, they sank them on a regular basis. I heard lots of stories of the oil washing ashore with bodies, parts of bodies, personal effects and dead sea life from the depth charges our side used. The beaches recovered quickly after the war was over with no long term effects.
My feelings exactly. My first thoughts were somethings really screwy about this whole thing.
The torpedo thing sounds a bit far fetched though. Some sort of sabotage does not.
A purposeful man-made tragedy doesn’t usually go unclaimed for long.
Oh, comeon. You know Obama sabotaged this rig. It’s his m.o. all the way. ;)
Transocean is a top-shelf company, with over 600 vessels, the largest private navy in the world. Safety is job #1 unconditionally, and everyone takes it seriously, as they know their lives depend on doing the job right.
After the Choesun incident, I wouldn’t doubt the NoKo provocateurs were involved.
And what’s with the SWAT teams?
“I still want to know why Obama said that we are sending SWAT teams to oil rigs in the Gulf (not just the one that blew up, but apparently all of them)?”
Good point.
North Korea sent a sub to the Gulf? C’mon.
My understanding is that if a sub was moving in the Gulf, we’d know about it.
I am hardly qualified to form an opinion. I have ZERO knowledge about drilling. I do agree the questions should be asked.
I am bothered by the way Nappy repeatedly referred to it as the “BP Spill” during her presser the other day and by the lack of curiousity shown by the media.
ELF in action, is my opinion.
The Obama Administration is out to destroy free market capitalism and America as America was founded.
If destroying this oil rig and hampering increasing oil drilling advances that goal, it is not to be discounted.
