As that wise sage Yogi Berra once said, "It's deja vu all over again." In 2004, the last time then Republican Senator Arlen Specter was facing a tough Pennsylvania primary challenge, he received eleventh hour endorsements from top GOP players that saved him from a humiliating primary defeat. He went on to win reelection and then promptly betrayed both the voters and his party by becoming a Democrat. Now, in another tough primary challenge, his new party's establishment is rushing to his aid.

Specter is a whore. A senile, traitorous old whore that needs to be put out to pasture. How can anyone take the ridiculous old man seriously? He betrayed the Republicans and sold his soul for power.

Specter is in a tough primary race and the mud is flying.

It will leave whom ever the very wounded and staggering winner is very weak against a fresh Pat Tommey...

Specter did us a favor by jumping ship
we now have a solid conservative Toomey to carry the GOP banner without a primary
had he not left there would have been a primary on the GOP side TOomey probably would have won but had a depleted war chest and faced most likely Sestak in the general.
now Toomey will most likely face Specter who will have a depleted war chest, an anti-incumbant and anti-democrat wave to fend off, and a very bruised reputation

I hope Toomey wins. I want Specter gone for so many reasons, but first among them is the fact that he’s the worst kind of career politician. No core principles. Just wants the power and prestige that goes with being a senator. He needs to go and he needs to take that pathetic old Sheets Byrd with him on the way out. We need congressional term limits so bad.

Sestak is finally playing up the switch. *gasp* Showing Spectre with Pres. Bush endorsing him and ending with a pic of him with Sarah.

“He betrayed the Republicans”

Didn’t he betray the Dims first?

I’ll never forgive GW Bush for endorsing Specter over Toomey.

That, sir, is an unfair characterization. Most of the whores I've known have given me a good value for my dollars, which is more than you could say about Senator Specter. Compared to the way he's acted, any prostitute could claim the moral advantage.

You can add former Senator Santorum and the RNSC to that list also.

Wonderful response! I apologize for slandering whores everywhere. I’m sure they all have more character and honor than Arlen Specter.
