Every Dog Must Have a Soul
unknown

Posted on 05/10/2010 9:31:04 AM PDT by celticfreedom

Every dog must have a soul Somewhere deep inside Where all his hurts and grievances Are buried with his pride. Where he decides the good and bad, The wrong way from the right, And where his judgment carefully Is hidden from our sight. A dog must have a secret place Where every thought abides, A sort of close acquaintance that He trusts in and confides. And when accused unjustly for Himself, He cannot speak, Rebuked, He finds within his soul The comfort he must seek. He’ll love, tho ‘he is unloved, And he’ll serve tho ‘badly used, And one kind word will wipe away The times when he’s abused. Altho’ his heart may break in two His love will still be whole, Because God gave to every dog An understanding Soul!

Yes, a dog has a soul but not a spirit.

I pray that I will see all my pets in heaven.

They ALL had good souls!

You kids get away from the table before you eat every bite up from the dogs.

All animals have a spark of the Divine.

I can’t imagine that we wouldn’t.

Seems to me that God gave us the most wonderful creatures immaginable. The love we have for our pets, dogs, cats, horses and on and on is deep and returned ten-fold. Our Father knows it, He MADE it all :^) We cannot know for certain all that heaven holds, but somehow, way deep down, I just believe with all of my heart that our Father knows what His creations need for perfect peace and joy.

Where do you draw the line? Wolverines? Iguanas? Rats?

What about dinosaurs?

I mean, how do you define animals with souls vs those without? And do you have scriptural support for that distinction, or for the concept that animals with souls go to heaven?

I look forward to seeing wach one!

I’ve already put in my request to see ALL of them.

How could the Creator, not allow what He created be reunited with someone that LOVES Him and the joy of caring for His animals? If He didn’t love them too, Noah’s ark wouldn’t have saved them.

Revelation speaks of horses. Why not dogs?

If animals are heaven-bound ... what does that say about the availablility of a medium-rare porterhouse or buffalo chicken wings on the other side?

I simply cannot fathom a heaven without steak and chicken wings. Can a place without these things truly be called “heaven”?

Haha.

Lord, I pray that you help me to be the person my dog thinks I am.

Amen.

Among my favorite quotations is Mark Twain's take on organized religion and dogs in Heaven: "Upon arrival at the Pearly Gates, leave your dog outside. Entry is based on favorites. If it were based on merit, he'd be in, and you'd stay out."

That was beautiful. I yelled at my dog last night (which I RARELY do) because he chomped on my asthma inhaler. And I felt horrible, so I apologized and hugged him a few minutes later. It’s like he didn’t even know I was mad at him earlier; he just lovingly came to me, wagging his tail.

Dogs are wonderful. And so are some cats!

Can you prove or even show convincingly, that a dog has no spirit?

“Yes, a dog has a soul but not a spirit.’

Can you clarify that, ie, delineate the distinction between the two.

What does the Revelation say about horses in heaven, as opposed to horses on the earth?

No it's just cats who run the place.
