Why not add on something to the Patriot Act? Or why not just charge “citizen terrorists” with treason.....and hang’m.

If Bush had said this, then the other side would be saying what this side is saying.

They have heard that something “BIG” is in the terrorism works and luck will not suffice to stop it, hence the abrupt CYA about-turn.

If Bush had talked about “lossening” anything, they would have called him an idiot.

I guess that could be one ‘position’ I could support.

Well I don’t trust this bunch to decide whether I’m a terrorist or not.

Liberals don't give a hoot about terrorists - if they're going to relax rights to "get" someone - it's to "get" us - their fellow citizens who happen to be conservative.

Trust me, liberals hate us - and that hatred is deadly.

Anyone who wants to find a way around the Constitution of the United States is unqualified to hold office. I believe that Miranda was incorrectly decided, in the sense that while the rights specified are inviolate, it is not the responsibility of law enforcement to coach suspects on their rights, but Miranda is now the law of the land. All US citizens have Miranda rights, regardless of whether they are captured on film engaging in crime, captured in combat by our military, or captured by an overzealous cop who needs to make quota before his doughnut break. Non-citizens rather obviously do not have those rights outside our country. I don’t see much point in debating settled law.

Sometimes, it appears that the hatred is on both sides.

Give me an example or two ... I know liberals - I know how they talk - and I've never met a conservative with that kind of hatred.

Please, feel free to post signs from Tea Parties and signs from any liberal hate feast... And I'm not talking about some "out of context" lying liberal pretending to be a conservative - broad pictures - hundreds of signs. They are the haters. NOT us.

Liberals hate, they know how to lie, and they know how to troll... they think the rules of decency don't applie to them because they're soooooooo superior.

Liberals would put us in camps if they could - if you forget that it might be your children or grandchildren loaded on their trains.

Miranda rights exist solely from an interpretation of our Constitution. As such, another interpretation is feasible, if not completely warranted.

Calling it “settled law” is a mistake, since it’s not law but interpretation.

They could’t read the miranda rights to the undie bomber any faster if they had gotten a speed reader to do it.

When it comes to an American citizen they suddenly decide they really don’t want to read them at all.

People need to take a long hard look at the threads about what the Hutaree militia actually did before deciding its OK to forego reading miranda rights to people the government deems to be terrorist. If the Hutaree are any indication, FR could easily fall under the same designation.

You're right. Would you accept the idea that it is not the White House's place to ignore the Miranda Ruling, and that only another decision from the Supremes or a Constitutional Amendment can override that ruling?
