Mitt Romney’s main strategy in the GOP primaries of 2012 is to hammer Sarah Palin as “a quitter”.

Yesterday, I was interviewed by a reporter for CBS, for a story on the diverse groups of people supporting Sarah Palin online. The reporter authored a book on Palin last year, after being embedded with her vice presidential campaign, following a stint covering Mittens Romney. I can’t imagine how many cucumbers-and-mayonnaise sandwiches this guy had to eat on the Romney Express (to nowhere), but I gave him the same kind of awed respect I grant anyone who’s ever spent more than half an hour with Tim Pawlenty — and didn’t succumb to T-Paw induced narcolepsy.

We (the reporter and I, not Tim Pawlenty or Mittens) met up at Nookie’s Tree in Boystown and talked about Sarah Palin over coffee. Doing enough of these interviews over the course of the last few years, and being interviewed by some great people like Andrea Shea King and Tammy Bruce, I can usually spot the story the reporter wants to tell by the way his questions unfold and what he keeps coming back to whenever I take the conversation on one of my tangents about how terrible the current administration is. The story CBS wants to do on Palin’s supporters appears to be something in the realm of “an unthinking, personal, and emotional defense of a woman they love”. It’s not a negative story, and the reporter doesn’t seem like the kind who would write a hit piece, on either Palin herself or on me as a Palin-supporter, but the impression I got from him was that he’s projecting the Left’s Obama cult of personality onto Palin supporters — when nothing could be further from the truth.

Most of the questions asked of me were in the vein of how I felt whenever Palin was attacked, and what makes me defend her.

It seems the people who throw out the word RINO every 2 minutes are the ones who support just that.

In the Congressional primary the other day in Idaho
Marine reservist VAughn Ward, a conservative Republican,
linked to McCain so Baaaaad

So the Ron PaulBots and other wackOs voted for and elected
PaulBot Raul Labrador - A Pro Illegal Alien Lawyer.

Distortions are never helpful and opinions are merely opinions.

If Obama is beatable in 2012 Sarah Palin will run and be the nominee and the 'clean-fingernails' GOP establishment and prissy elitists like Mitt Romney won't be able to do a damn thing about it. The FR Palin hate brigade can make up facts to support their opinions all they want. They're wasting their time.

It was absolutely lame. :) I can’t believe he thought for a moment that it would pass muster.

"Palin and Mitt have in military terms again stolen a march on their enemies."

it is too early to make that determination, which is essentially what people were saying about Mitt vs. Rudy in 2008. Especially Rudy. At this point in the run up to the 2008 elections, few here would have guessed that McCain would end up being our nominee. I intend to wait until the field is filled out before I decide on who to support.

So do I. But I also feel the same way about Myth Romney. He needs to go home and stop trying to muck up the GOP with his slick, gutless socialist tendencies.

Sarah Palin made a crap endorsement or two. Myth Romney’s had a crap career of supporting the very things he now claims to be against.

I’m not 100% sold on Sarah for 2012, but if the choice is between her and Slick Willard, it’s her every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

You Mittwits have never learned to stop throwing stones, even though your glass houses are already in shards on the ground.

“How’s Sarah Palin doing with her ENDORSING and CAMPAIGNING for RINO, McPain?”

Totally irrelevant.

If there is a conservative in the mix who has not endorsed RINOs, it would be relevant.

But in relation to Myth Romney as a comparison, he is a RINO himself, so not relevant in comparing the two candidates.

Good luck in hacking for Myth on this site.

we can debate whether the stolen march will be helpful or not for those two but there is no debate that they have stolen the march. Palin and Mitt whether anyone likes it or not are now the front runners for the GOP nomination. that may change, but the facts are those two are the front runners.

I like to deal with facts not hopes and dreams.

the facts are that at this moment in time Palin and Mitt are the frontrunners in the GOP field. Until someone comes and knocks them down that fact will remain.

You’re so right and the only wrinkle I can predict at this point is Obama either naming Hitlery as VP or deciding not to run in 2012:

the “quid pro quo” for Bill’s entry into the Sestak cover-up.

I’m with Newt on the Sestak cover-up. Bill’s call took place, but it’s the diversion. The red meat job offer call came afterward and it was made by Rahm.

(Back to the subject of this thread).

Romney is a desperate louse and attempts by Mittens to takedown Sarah will fail. He can’t play nice guy while holding a knife behind his back.

The total lack of military service in the Romney family is more than irksome. I share your view, Trisham.

Quitting for a higher position is a nonsensical comparison but you already knew that.

She quit to pursue a lucrative career as a speaker, writer and media talking head.

Nice try though.

The thing about Palin is that once you support her, you support her. We don't give a damn what liberals say about her. We know who she is and thanks to liberals, she has been vetted.

So wtc911, go ahead and keep touting the quitting meme.

I DON'T CARE LA LA LA LA LA!!!!

"Voters will be indifferent to Pawlenty, Barbour, DeMint, etc because they're promoting the same-old statist agenda."

DeMint, statist???!!! He is one of the most consistent opponents of the statist agenda in politics. While many Republicans now oppose Obama's statist agenda, DeMint was one of the few who opposed the big spending agenda of his own party. In this regard he has been far more consistent than Palin. I like Sarah, but people like DeMint have been fighting this battle within with far more consistency than she has.

Sarah Palin had 26 frivolous law suits thrown at her and one by one thrown out.
She was spending time while Gov. having to defend these along with her staff.

Besides costing her over $500,000 out of pocket and the time she was spending when she had a state to govern, she thought it best to let her Lt. gov. take over along with
the cost mounting up.

The Left wing thought they would sink sarah, but she reloaded.

At this point, I don’t think that he will be the Republican nominee, but then I didn’t in my wildest dreams think that McCain would be in 2008. What a bitter disappointment.
