James O’Keefe is at it again and this time has revealed a massive financial fraud within the Census Bureau that is costing you, the taxpayer, over an additional $1,000,000,000.00! This clip reveals James O’Keefe going undercover as a Census worker and being trained to tweak his pay card and his work hours by up to four additional hours a day. Census workers are paid $18.25 per hour. With over 600,000 workers that’s an incredible amount of fraudulent paychecks.
O’Keefe captures on video the training by the crew leader on how to tweak the time cards. When he points out to the crew leader that the card states “Under penalty of fine and/or imprisonment I certify that the information is true and correct to the best of my knowledge,” the crew leader brushes him off and reassures him that it will be fine.
O’Keefe doesn’t stop there. He confronts the Census Bureau’s head of payroll and is again assured that nobody performs audits at that level. He continues on by showing up at the Field Operations Offices and speaks to the head Field Operator who once again tells him that as long as his crew leader signs off on it, than he has no need to worry!
This goes to prove that integrity no longer exist within government at any level. These people should be fired but the unions will make sure that they are protected at all cost.

Wow. My neighbor is going to be really surprised. She works for the census part time and makes $13.25 and hour.

He better keep copies of everything in different locations or it’ll turn out like when his cell phone was returned after the Landrieu investigation and the video had been deleted.

Agreed, but those results aren’t yet discoverable. O’Keefe’s work here, if ANYone in Washington cares, could limit the greater fraud.

BFD. His training was scheduled to run until 5:00 pm but the supervisor was able to finish it an hour early. Should everyone be required to sit at their desks and stare into space or do busy work for an hour? There are far bigger problems than this.
You are missing the point. You don’t sit there until the time on your time card... you mark your time card with the actual time you finished your work.
Exactly. The census is probably thrilled to have this level of expose—as in, “If this is all they could find...”
Little problems have a way of becoming big problems. It is always a
“big” deal when wrongful acts are committed.
The supervisor said in the Duncan Donuts interview that they had homework. It may take some people until 5:00 to finish the training. That why it was scheduled that way. This supervisor and this class got done a little sooner than scheduled. They also had assignments to do off the clock. I don’t see this as a big deal. Yes it could be better but if you look at all the ways government wastes money this is not a big deal.

I think most people realize that when he said “You have homework” it was said very tongue in cheek. I’d like to know what kind of homework. It just goes to show the difference between a free-enterprise private sector and the entitlement mentality of the government sector. Again, you keep dismissing this as if it were insignificant. $1,000,000,000.00 is hardly insignificant...and if you plugged all of those seemingly “insignificant” holes in government, that you just referred to, than the savings would be astronomical!
