Captain of Miva Marmara: “I Tried to Stop the Preparation Two Hours Before IDF Boarded”

Israel’s Foreign Secretary’s Department shared video of the captain of the Turkish ship “Marmara” testifying how the “peace activists” prepared to use violence with the soldiers enforcing the blockade. He claimed, “I tried to stop the preparations for violence, but with no success. I ordered the employees of the ship to collect all the iron rods (sticks)”.

If what he’s saying is true (and I have some doubts), then aren’t the “protesters” technically pirates or hijackers and thus, subject to being subdued by deadly force?

Hijackers of a turkish ship/mutineers. Should be owed a very long term in turkish prison. I've heard that is quite unpleasant.
