I disagree.

I can understand combat pay and pensions being exempt from Federal taxes, but to suggest that military personnel should be given a blanket and indefinite tax exemption is just wrong.

Disagreed.
I’m a veteran and that proposal would NOT work.
Taxes should be made simple and, in a word, singular [for whatever level of government we’re talking about].
We should get rid of crap like: inheritance tax, [pet] licensing tax, energy tax, phone excise tax...
Instead of all those taxes making EVERYONE’S (Govt included) lives harder, we could go with something like a Federal Income Tax of [say] 5% with NO exceptions or deductions (i.e. EVERYONE would pay that same rate).
