Ask the people of Houston, they don’t have zoning there either and neither do they want it.

Yes, progressivism is statist but there are many other forms of statism. In any case drug prohibition is a statist policy and, more importantly, un-Constitutional.

Drug prohibition, at the state level, is perfectly constitutional. And if I’m not mistaken, the vast majority of states prohibit the vast majority of ‘recreational’ drugs.

I’m tempted to start a multi-state organization for new push for complete and total prohibition of alcohol to illustrate absurdity by being absurd. Join me?

If I succeed in banning alcohol, do you have a problem living under that Statism?

Don’t evade by saying that it can’t be done. Do you have a problem with that flavor of Statism? Isn’t drunkenness against the majority of peoples moral codes and should be legislated so the state can protect people from harm?

Push all you want. Try to ban it. The benefits of alcohol far outweigh the negatives. That’s why it has been an accepted and celebrated part of civilizations since history has been recorded.

So you are under the impression that the tens of thousands of herbs on this planet don't have quite as long of a history as alcohol? I would say that the the use of herbs with medicinal uses predates alcohol. They have been used before history started being recorded.

You evaded answering. You didn't answer if that flavor of Statism was OK if it was pushed through by a rabid advocacy group. Is it OK?

Apart from sterilizing external wounds what are the amazing benefits of alcohol? IMO it is a much more dangerous drug than heroin for several reasons.

Every state forces children to take psychotropics on the word of public school teachers and counselors. I have friends who were blackmailed by the school system into putting their child on Ritalin. Numerous FReepers have related the same experiences with their schools.

It should be alarming that prescriptions for psychotropics to children increased 800% between 1990 and 2000 and rather obvious that the state is behind that. I haven't seen statistics for the last ten years but I would be surprised if it hasn't increased even more.

It has happened before. Alcohol abuse adds millions to our health care costs and kills many. Now that the states own our bodies cradle to grave, don’t you think it is only logical that they prevent people from harming state property? From unfairly burdening those who don’t drink with the costs created by those that do?

You still evade the question. Turn the tables where alcohol is use is forbidden and can result in the forfeiture of private property. Is it still fair?

There is a good reason you are known as a know-nothing blowhard. You can’t back up what you say. I can.
