Although I’m sure what happened to the kid happened, I agree that this was not written by an eleven year old.

I went to public school in the 40s/50s. At the age of 7, my father accompanied me to the library to sign permission for me to have an adult library card with no restrictions. I was able to read and understand every one of the ten books I was allowed per week. In fact, by age 8, the librarians would no longer accept my book reports. They told me they knew I had read the books and understood them. I had some peer problems until I decided to dumb down my verbal speech. Teachers often told me they had to look up my vocabulary when grading my papers. I was taught correct grammar and I use it.

I am not a genius. I am terrible at math and it has taken me decades to understand anything above the most basic in physics. My spelling skills are today dependent upon spell check.

I fully believe this boy wrote this article. For the life of me, I cannot see any of the so-called *comedy gold* he and others mention. He describes a tragedy that could have been written as science fiction 60 years ago. Not only are boys enthusiastically discriminated against, conservatives are, as well.

We need another Civil Rights Movement.
