Salazar is an attorney; stellar qualification for Interior Secretary don’t you think?
The federal government can do anything it pleases.
You got a problem with that?
Articles like this one show just how disconnected America is w/ its government and esp the democrat agenda. Its not about jobs, economy, environment, health care or any of the thousands of hot button issues. Its all about how much power and control DC can gather to itself. In the end we’ll (the small people) will have the choice whether to wear the chains or put them off. Sadly, about 30% will be overjoyed to wear the chains, the largest %age will groused but in the end wear them and the tiny remainder will give the govt the single finger salute and be willing to back it up w/ force.
Since the regulators apparently screwed up big time in looking the other way as BP violated safety rules, and then compounded their error by giving this particular rig a safety award, Ken Salazar ought to be proposing a 6 month moratorium on all oil drilling regulations until we figure out what went wrong in the bureaucracy and fix it.
Since Salazar evidently was quite comfortable with letting private sector workers pay the consequences of his proposed drilling ban, the moratorium on regulation ought to be accompanied by an unpaid furlough of all workers involved in oil drilling regulation.
