Comparison between first state poll taken in Colorado (3/11), Texas (2/26), and Pennsylvania (4/09) and the second state poll taken (Colorado mid May and TX and PA today)with regards to changing political fortunes of Mitt Romney:
FIRST SECOND NET COLORADO 44% (IST) 25% (2ND) -19 TEXAS 32% (1ST) 18% (3RD) -14 PENNSYLVANIA 31% (1ST) 16% (4TH) -15
In addition of the 11 state polls released by Public Policy Polling (PPP) since the beginning of May, Romney has only finished first once and second twice.
In contrast Palin by virtue of the second polls in Colorado and Pennsylvania now leads in those states and of the 11 most recent polls done by PPP Palin has finished first or tied for first in 5 polls and finished second twice. And in all of these polls Gingrich, HUckabee and Ron Paul were included in the sample.
At this point Romney appears to be mostly sizzle and little steak and Palin appears to be doing better than most pundits are willing to give her credit for.
God I hope you’re right.
Palin will continue to confound the MM just like Ron Reagan did.
She is getting the most face time, and good for her. The people are receptive to her speeches. She may pull it off in the final stretch. If she does, watch how many faux scandals pop up. The Libs will hate her more than Bush as if they don’t already. I’d be willing to give her a chance, it can’t get any worse than what we have now.
Message to Mitt Romney: Don’t run, you can’t win and you will just screw things up for other candidates. Oh, this goes for Huckabee as well.
If you heard Chris Wallace on FoxNews Sunday, you would KNOW that Huckabee is running well ahead of everyone. The way Wallace sounded, Huckabee already has the nomination wrapped up.
[/s]
And Newt, while you’re at it.
Huckabee always does well in PPP polls but he does not lead in Colorado, Texas or Pennsylvania although he is definitely in the game.
But his problem is that he is perceived to be a regional candidate who cannot win anywhere but the Deep South, has a difficult time raising money and is now sitting at 5.7 on Intrade and been mired in single digits since Clemmons’ killed the 4 cops in Washington state.
I focused in on Romney and Palin simply to illustrate that Romney should not by any stretch of the imagination be considered the frontrunner and despite what you hear in the MSM or read on right-wing blogs that Palin is doing far better in recent polls than she is given credit for.
Jeb, too.
We don’t need another Bush EVER in the White House.
Romney’s got NH in his pocket already, so Iowa and SC are huge. I take it Palin’s got SC’s future governor in her corner now, though her endorsement in IA was more blatantly opportunistic.
Palin’s in good shape, but Romney is still dangerous.
The reason I posted this poll is not to diminish Romney completely but to put Mitt’s actual “frontrunner” status in the proper perspective. Sure he is formidable, but Palin is not in as bad a shape many of her critics want it to appear to be.
At no time did I say that Palin is a cinch to win the GOP nomination in 2012. But neither are Romney, Huckabee or Gingrich.
Again
PPP is the DEMOCRAT OWNED and OPERATED PUSH POLL operation .
These are not POLLS BUT DNC News wire BS propaganda releases.
Why don’t you warn POSTERS That this is PURE CRAP ?
Media can push freaken McLame, Huckabee, Romney, or whoever they care to.
F-em. Go Saracuda, Enough of this RINO crap.
And as for the marxist “magic negro”?
Ya know the secret service is busy.
I agree.
Piss on Romney. He’s a liberal.
But here’s the deal. Romney has only won only one of the last 11 state polls released by PPP? How is that push polling in Romney’s direction?
Look at the huge double-digit losses in support between the first and second polls conducted in Colorado, Texas and Pennsylvania? How does that benefit Mitt?
And why would PPP declare Palin the winner of 5 of the last 11 state polls it has released? Surely you’re not saying that PPP wants to push poll in Palin’s direction. If you are you should read of the blog postings on PPP and you’ll soon see they look up their nose at her and treat her with utter disdain.
Yeah. And it really ticked off about forty percent of the Republican base in the state. The conservatives who show up at caucuses.

As for the rest of your post, I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to say. If you're saying that Romney isn't doing as well as it is portrayed in the media, I think that's exactly right. With the exception of CO and IL, I don't believe he leads any of the polls. But, I'm not sure Palin is doing better either. Like Romney, she only leads in one poll?
Their latest national 2012 GOP poll poll is from June 16th. The results were...
If the Republican candidates for President in 2012 were Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Ron Paul and Mitt Romney who would you support?
Newt Gingrich - 15%
Mike Huckabee - 22%
Sarah Palin - 19%
Ron Paul - 6%
Mitt Romney - 25%
Someone else - 5%
Undecided - 6%
If anything, I'm surprised by three things - there is only 6% undecided, that Gingrich is doing as well as he is, and that Palin is unable to break out of third place, especially considering the amount of exposure she has received relative to the field the last 8 months.
