Many do not know the heroism of this man. He was executed by the Nazis 64 years ago. His group of heroes saved the lives of hundreds of US Army Air Corps pilots and aircrew members who were downed or crash landed on their way to and from important targets such as the Ploesti Oil fields.

Rest in Peace dear General. We have not forgotten you.

Unfortunately, General Mihailovich was executed by the Yugoslav communists in his own homeland of Serbia, in Belgrade, after the Nazis were no longer in the picture.
