Obamacare Makes Life Much Easier For Michelle Obama!

We were Disney Orlando and during a couple of days over the last week we went to the Outlet malls. There's one on Vineland and another at the northern tip of I-Drive. Once is a while we buy something from a name brand (I bought my wife a Coach pocketbook at the Coach outlet this week) but as we still have two kids in college most of the time we buy elsewhere. I won't even go into Barney's or Saks outlets. I think it costs about $50 just to walk in.

So naturally I am quite pleased when I read how Obamacare makes life so much easier for Michelle Obama:

“For moms like me, it makes our lives easier,”

"Moms like me"

Michelle Obama had led the typical Mom life. She was given a job at a law firm following graduation, she married Barack Obama and almost immediately gave up her license to practice law. She then went to work for Public Allies, where she was founding Executive Director. While I have not been able to learn Obama's salary at Public Allies, the website does offer a hint:

Working for nonprofit organizations does not mean being poor. Unlike the humorous Onion headline “Nonprofit Organization Fights Poverty with Poverty,” many nonprofit organizations provide competitive pay and benefits for many positions.

Her salary history remains murky until Barack Obama was elected to the Senate. Then her salary tripled to $316,000 per year. Her job apparently was to divert indigent patients away from the profitable University of Chicago. Michelle Obama's total income for 2007 was nearly $500,000.

I cannot afford $100 for an entire outfit. I always buy on the sale racks. I don’t enjoy shopping (I keep telling my husband he doesn’t know how lucky he is) but I try to buy the best quality I can when it matters at the cheapest price. And never anything trendy.

I buy only name brands.....but only at the outlets. Last weekend I was at Nordstrom’s Rack and they had Juicy tees for $14.98 ea. on the clearance rack. Naturally I bought a couple for me and a couple for my daughter.
However, since Obamacare passed my insurance supplemental has gone from $129 a mnth. to $172.
Yeah life is easier for me too Michelle. (sarcasm intended)

I shop at places like Macy’s, Chico’s, Coldwater Creek but I often shop online clearance. You can try it on in the store and then buy online for much less. They have some great tanks with lace trim that they sell in the store for $30/each and I have gotten them (with free shipping) from the online outlet for $7.99-$14.99/each.

$300K + to tell incoming poor black patients...”HEY, YOU CAN'T PARK..I MEAN, COME IN HERE.” Of course, her pay was based strictly on merit because I'm sure that more than a few white crackers took one look at her and made a U-turn, too.

The same brands can be found at thrift stores for a lot less, often in “like new” condition. I love thrift stores!

Well I am pretty lucky. We have a boat docked in Ventura, Ca. and all the outlets are a short drive from there. There is the huge Camarillo Outlet Mall that has every designer under the sun plus a Sak’s Off Fifth and a Neiman Marcus Outlet. Then in Oxnard is the Nordstrom’s Rack (my fave store).
I get great deals and dress alot better than anyone I know on a heckuva lot less money.

I loved Nordstrom Rack, moved to the east coast where we finally got a real Nordy’s but no Rack.
