Barack Obama to stay in Marbella [August vacation in Spain]
Typically Spanish ^ | July 25, 2010

Posted on 07/25/2010 8:53:19 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The United States President will spend four days of his holiday in the town with his family during August

The President of the United States, Barack Obama, his wife Michelle, and their daughters Malia and Sasha, will spend part of their summer holidays in Marbella.

In what will be his first visit to Spain as President, he will stay from August 4 – 8 in the luxury Villapadierna Hotel.

Before returning to the United States, Obama will travel to the Marivent Palace on Mallorca to meet with King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia. He’s also expected to meet with the Spanish Prime Minister, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, at some point.

Government sources quoted by El Mundo, while failing to confirm the news, said if it were to happen it would be a ‘clear demonstration of the excellent relations currently between Spain and the United States'.

WHAT????

What vacation spot is scheduled for Sept? Oct...It's vacation when you take the family. Meanwhile Americans are out of work and the BOSS OF EVERYTHING is on vacation.

Remember when Bush got grief even when he 'gave up golf for the troops' in 2003. Said it didn't look good to the moms of fighting men and women. The Left said it was a knee/leg injury disruption.

Hypocrites, the Left.

Apparantly lavish presidential vacations are not included.

The Left is comparing Obama and Bush time off saying that Bush had taken over 90 days vacation to Obama’s 30+ at the 18mo mark.

So they are comparing Barry’s extensive golfing, eating out, playing with his kids and listening to Michelle whine, while jetting all over hell and creation, to President Bush going to Camp David or the ranch in Crawford.

I think Barry and the Klingon have already wore out AF-1 and are now working on AF-2.

The last time I was in Marbella, the beaches were nowhere near the quality of Gulf beaches. Things may have changed though, since Franco was still alive then.

He has his Czars - and has no work ethic. Never had to be responsible for anything in his life - all handed to him. What isn’t handed to him, he takes. However, he still must pay the consequences someday because there is no free ride for anyone. I’ll take responsibility over consequences any day.

A scenario - Having a child who we are responsible for and he/she is in dire need - we not only ignore their needs but take from them. Wouldn’t want to live with that!

Am not sure what date this was posted on, BUT:

http://blog.yourkeytospain.co.uk/lifestyle/saudi-yacht-marbella-true-spectacle.htm

If you happen to be in Marbella this week, you will probably already have seen the spectacular sight of what looks like a cruise liner, anchored off the Mediterranean coast. This is in fact the ´Prince Abdulaziz´, one of the largest motor yachts in the world.

With a length of 147 metres and a cruising speed of 22 knots, the yacht was built in 1984 at a cost of 184 million dollars, with features including pools, hospital, cinema, helicopter with landing pad, underwater detection system, and even a small mosque. Belonging to the Saudi royal family, the yacht was launched as ´Abdul Aziz´, but renamed later by the late King Fahd for his son.

Now owned by Fahd´s successor, King Abdullah, the yacht has been touring the Mediterranean this year, and has already been spotted off the South of France. The Saudis are currently in residence in their ***lavish compound in the hills of Marbella.*** The nearest yacht harbour of Puerto Banus, already home to several ocean-going yachts, simply cannot accommodate the size of the Prince Abdulaziz, the largest yacht built in the 20th century

The entourage is over 100 people and many locals have gained temporary employment

The Saudi Prince, Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, who is brother to the late King Fahd, has arrived in Marbella for a summer break.
His entourage is of more than 100 people, and dozens of locals have also been contracted into service.

Municipal sources have confirmed the prince arrived on Monday, and note that they have also taken rooms in several hotels including the Marbella Club, Puente Romano and Don Pepe.

The Saudi Royal Family has been spending its holidays in Marbella for the past 30 years, and their yacht, ‘Shaf’ can be seen in Puerto Banús.

Should you be visiting the World famous port Puerto Banus and walk past the port office´s watch tower, you will no doubt ask who own the 2 largest yachts in the port.

Lady Haya is 65 meters, designed by super star designer Terence Disdale and althought the super yacht is from 1981, it looks like a brand new yacht. The yacht is often refitted and the ship looks absolutely faboulus. At the moment you can see the royals and their friends sitting on the top deck almost every evening. The police are everywhere in and around the port. The enormous amount off wealth on display amounts to approximately €40-45million for Lady Haya And approximately 10 million for the smaller and older Shaf, both are owned by HRH Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud and his brothers.
They also own Prince Abul Aziz, which at 147 meters values at appoximately €50million and is to long to enter the port in Puerto Banus. But have been seen on several times in the Bay of Marbella.

Other Saudi owned super yachts include Al Salamah
