National Education Association Orders Members to Read Communist Guide Book

The National Education Association (NEA) is the premier teachers union group in the country. As such it is instructive to learn the sort of reading material that the biggest of all teachers unions tells its own members to study so that they can more adequately represent teachers in America today.

A look at the NEA website reveals a shocking recommendation to its members. The union that represents the teachers that we send our children to every school day suggests that its members read the communist-like manifesto of famed left-wing agitator Saul Alinsky.

That’s right, the NEA wants its members, America’s teachers, to become programmed by the ideas and policy prescriptions in a communist manifesto.

Defund the Left. 100% defunding. Not a budget cut. Complete 100% no government tax funds to them or any of their people.

It is interesting to note that the Tea Party activist, Michael Patrick Leahy, mentioned in the NEA article, was asked to leave an original group for pushing the con con plan.

It wouldn't surprise me to find Mr. Leahy involved in the attempt to push social issues to the curb and out of the Tea Party mainstream.

Someone needs to write a book that details techniques to combat Alinsky tactics. I can see public school teachers using his tactics against conservative parents and fellow teachers, but not many people are ready with an effective come-back.

Alinsky books describe tactics to be used in organizing. These tactics are ideologically neutral.
In fact, the tea party and many grass roots groups use these tactics all the time. That is because they are common sense.

These tactics are like tools, like a gun or knife. They can be used for good or for evil.

Books have been written to counter Alinsky tactics and present alternative tactics. Most of those books are written by other leftists, both MAO/CHE type leftists and Hubert Humphrey/Scoop Jackson type traditional union leftists.

A few have been written by non-leftits. The one I prefer of course is GAMES COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS PLAY. Written in the 70s, it uses the metaphor of Transactional Analysis pop psychology (I’M OK, You’re OK, Games People Play, Games Alcoholics Play, etc.)

GAMES COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS PLAY was sold widely at National Training and Info Center (NTIC) sessions in the 70s.

The book GAMES PEOPLE PLAY describes impotent games such as AINT IT AWFUL in which nobody changes position in the game.

It then describes the traditional liberal game of RESCUE, a 3-handed game in which there is a persecutor/oppressor and a victim and a rescuer.

It then describes games in which people change position in the game such as LET’S YOU AND HIM FIGHT and LET’S PLAY A FAST ONE ON JOEY. These are the favorite games of the Alinsky organizer.

A key point of this approach is that people are players in the game, even when they don’t realize it. Thus the plight of hapless JOEY. We can see these games when Trent Lott, Orrin Hatch, Mithc McConnell and other establishment Republicans are repeatedly suckered into letting the left frame the issue with a false premise. Then the establishment Republican tries to build a conservative/Republican position from the false premise.

The book GAMES COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS PLAY took the individual psychology approach and just expanded it with detail to describe the games in the context of Alinsky organizing.

Of course, I’m biased on this.

"We send our kids to these communist indoctrination centers, folks! "

And now the KoolAid ideologue posing as an expert and Secretary of Ed wants to increase the time they have control of our kids so as to more thoroughly indoctrinate them.

I understand he wants them to wear uniforms, too. Brown, of course.

“might just be a good idea for everyone to eyeball it.”
Concur w/gunnyg. Know the enemy. I’m having fun with the principles by using ridicule (credit for the suggestion goes to FReepers.) They respond w/inarticulate rage.
Have only read excerpts and analyses. Refuse to pay $ and let the forces of evil profit.

Government schools have been indoctrination centers from the day the first modern government schools opened in the mid-1800s to early 1900s!!!

Why?

Answer:

1)**ALL** modern government schools are socialist-funded! They have **always** been socialist-funded. Simply by attending children learn that the government has ENORMOUS power to take money from his neighbor. If government can threaten his neighbor with armed police action to pay for a socialist school service his parents want tuition-free, then why not **THOUSANDS** of other socialist wants and needs???

( Is a “duh” needed here?)

2)**ALL** government schools in this nation are godless! **ALL** government schools in this nation teach children to think godlessly!

The first modern government schools ( mid-1800s) fed children a generic and lukewarm Protestantism. ( We know what Christ does with the lukewarm.) Since at least my grandmother's day, the schools have been godless in their curriculum with a sprinkle of pray and scripture in the morning. ( Although I will admit that my grandmother's teachers likely mitigated the effects of the godlessness by the influence of their own personal Christianity.)

Well...If children attend godless and socialist schools is it any wonder that our nation's citizens approved the following:

**The IRS
** The federal reserve
** Woodrow Wilson and his failed “One World” League of Nations.
**feminism
** direct election of senators
** Unions
** The usurpation of thousands of acres of land for federal parks and national monuments ( without compensation).
**Franklin D. Roosevelt and his New Deal
** Lyndon B. Johnson and his Great Society
** the abolishment of the gold standard

If children are taught day after day to become comfortable with socialism and godlessness, we will, indeed, have a socialist and godless nation with citizens who think government is their redeemer.

It never ceases to amaze me that most who would call themselves “patriot,” etc. still pride themselves on being a taxpayer,(paying their fair share), but not wishing to be “overtaxed,” a voter (though having no clear choice of candidates, both major parties being the same, a good citizen, serving a corrupt government, etc.—while taxation is, pure and simple robbery, etc.—so what is it being argued but a degree of being robbed, and a degree of PC as to being enslaved by out-n-out tyrants...

And so, we continue choosing either Mr Flim or Mr Flam, paying what they take, but prideful of having the right to bitch (shortly coming to an end) regarding what we know for sure is the next outrage barreling down the pike our way!
