Civilizational War

The Civilization of Islam

One of the clearest lessons about Islam is found in the Sharia. The largest part of the Sharia is devoted to regulating the life of Muslims down to the smallest detail. There is no aspect of life that is not regulated -- sex, food, art, business, education, prayer, manners, speech, and how to think and not to think. There is no aspect of life that is outside the power of Sharia -- religion, politics, ethics, and culture are included. The Sharia is the operating manual for a complete civilization. Islam is complete within itself and needs nothing from the outside.

The Sharia has one other quality that is as important as the totality of its scope. The civilization of Sharia is not just different from our civilization -- it contradicts our civilization.

Inside Islam, justice, religion, politics, law, human rights, and compassion do not mean what they mean to us. All of these ideas are based on the principles of submission and duality as found in the Sharia.

Our Civilization

Our civilization is based on the principles of the Golden Rule and critical thought. We do not always fulfill the principles, but they are the ideals we strive for, and they can be used for debate and self-criticism to correct and improve our culture.

Our principles lead to the ideals of critical thought, self-criticism, equality of all peoples before the law, freedom of thought and ideas, freedom of religion, public debate, separation of church and state, liberal democracy, and a free-ranging humor.

These are beautiful ideals, and they are worth keeping and striving towards. Do we meet them? No, but what is more important is that they contradict the Sharia. It is one thing to fail to achieve these ideals, but it is entirely another to see them disappear as a public option under the impact of Sharia. Sharia law limits all the concepts to which our civilization's principles lead.

Civilizational War

Part of the genius of Islam is the totality of Sharia, which includes a concept of war that attacks the host civilization at every aspect of its being. In modern times, the military power of Islam is weak, but this is more than compensated by its ability to attack along legal and cultural lines under the guise of being a religion.

As Sharia is applied to a society, the host civilization is annihilated in each and every manifestation of culture. This annihilation is demonstrated by a peculiar fact about the history of Islamic countries -- part of it is missing. Afghanistan used to be a Buddhist civilization. We see its remnants in ruins and fragments such as the Bamiyan Buddhas, which were destroyed by the Taliban. Who knows the Buddhist history of Afghanistan? Practically speaking, it does not exist. Who knows the history of how Turkey, North Africa, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq went from being Christian to Islamic?

We don't know the history because of the total annihilation of the past cultures by Sharia law. As time goes on, the customs, law, art, literature, and ethics of the host culture are replaced by Islamic values under the application of Sharia. The result is that there is nothing left of the history before the implementation of Sharia law.

There is a second aspect of this annihilation: the dhimmitude of the Kafirs (non-Muslims) remaining inside Islamic society. If you talk to Christians who are left in Islamic countries, they are an abused people who are unable to fight back after centuries of suffering and degradation under Sharia law. They are not supported by other Kafirs and are left to suffer under the oppression that will eliminate their few numbers. Whatever memory they have of the past is ignored by those who should be defending them.

If we are to go down the Sharia road, history teaches that it has always led to an Islamic mono-culture. In the end, there is no such thing as a little Sharia.

What kind of mentality wants/requires total mind control in order to survive day to day living? This isn’t just a cultural thing, its Darwinian.

We are in a bizarre situation because it looks as if we are about to become a Muslim territory without even really being attacked and getting a chance to fight back. We had the 9/11 attack on unsuspecting civilians and a few random shooters killing defenseless people, and now we’re giving in.

Actually, it’s worse than that. Islam is being imposed on us by our government. It has gotten privileges that no other religion has been granted, even though it is not a religion, as the author points out, but a rival political system. Yet US and local governments have funded it, given money to its preachers and for its buildings, waived laws to promote it, created a faux history of the glories of Islam in the US, and are simply acting as if it is already a done deal and we are now part of the Islamic world.

The Muslims are acting the same way, and one of the reasons Rauf is so arrogant and blatant about his Victory Mosque is that he knows they really have won. And it didn’t even cost them very much.

A very worthwhile read. We saw this in Iraq. There is a willingness to modernize but huge resistance to Westernize. They just do not have the same values and thought processes. Nation building becomes relative. It will take lifetimes to change them to western-style nations... The idea that they attack us culturally and politically under the guise of religion is being borne out today by what is going on in NYC. The Mosque will be call the Al Atta Mosque throughout the Muslim world and will be a symbol of their will and triumph that we cannot resist because we are so politically and culturally weak in their eyes.

because it looks as if we are about to become a Muslim territory

The problem, in a nutshell, is that it is illegal to do anything to stop Islamic expansion. No one wants to fall on their sword in order to save Christendom.

We haven't crossed that river yet.

Ummm, is it just me or is this sort of thing being ‘discovered’ or discussed about nine years too late? By now we should be debating which parts of the jihadist world to rebuild after having figured this sort of thing out nine years ago.

“We are in a bizarre situation because it looks as if we are about to become a Muslim territory without even really being attacked and getting a chance to fight back.”

Two thoughts. First, I would have phrased your statement to the effect that the PEOPLE of the U.S. have not been given a chance to fight back because those in power have other agendas. Secondly, when the Danish raiders (Vikings) invaded and took over parts of England and imposed their ways and language on the local population, at least they had the good taste to do so openly, instead of making it an inside job.

No. But the pontoon bridges are being brought up as we speak.

I see it as similar to prisoners who have become institutionalized. I knew one man who was so institutionalized he committed a minor crime just so he could go back to prison, all decisions were made for him. He didn’t have to decide when to get up in the morning, what to wear, what to eat or how to spend his day. Everything was decided for him.
Muslims have been institutionalized.

There is no aspect of life that is outside the power of Sharia -- religion, politics, ethics, and culture are included.

That is also true of Orthodox Judaism. It apparently is a Semitic thing (both Arabs and Jews are Semites out of Abraham).

This of course why Christ was executed, totally contrary weltanschaung. And of course what the Reformation was about.

J. Jaynes discusses it comprehensively in modern psycho-sociological terms, the Bicameral mindset.

Hey, American Thinker brought it up. You don't back off what is going down.

And maybe that is why Christians always seem to end up being subjected to attacks from those who hate them, because while there is the most basic rules that must be observed, such as the 10 commandments and the two great commandments, there is more freedom that comes with the grace that comes with Christ’s liberating death and resurection.

Very good points both. I guess precisely what is so frightening and makes us so defenseless about this is that an “inside job” is exactly what it is. They have been quietly taking us over for the last 10 years, using their money to infiltrate all of our institutions, and finally managed to buy themselves the White House. They really don’t even need to waste their time attacking now.

And the other thing they know is that Americans would resist, as you point out, if attacked. But we don’t have any idea of how to go about resisting their simple assumption of power from within.

Very much a tactic of Sun Tsu. Two of the points he would have made:

All warfare is based on deception.

To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence; supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy’s resistance without fighting.

If you look at the tactics employed by Moslem troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, you will see lots of echos of ol’ Sun’s thoughts.
