Misunderstanders of Islam, Refuting Jocelyne Cesari (CNN)
Worcester Telegram and Gazette blog ^ | 08/25/2010 | Peter Cook

Jocelyne Cesari, in a special column for CNN’s website, wrote a piece called, “Islam is a religion, not a terror ideology”. The piece is full of mistakes and assertions that are based in liberal’s hopes not actual fact. Let’s dissect this piece of wishful thinking one lie at a time.

She writes, “Opposition to Islamic centers and mosques in the United States shows remarkable similarities to anti-Islamic movements in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, where people also have sought to prohibit new mosques. Last December in Switzerland, citizens voted in a referendum to prohibit new minarets.”

There is good reason for this. European countries have seen an exponential rise in Islamic mosques and populations. The followers of Islam flowing into these countries do not blend into the culture of the country they enter. They insist on Sharia law (laws of which Jocelyne would be relegated to nothing but a mere slave); they do not mix into the population but segregate themselves. What’s more the Swiss have every right to retain their culture, whether that includes architectural styles or anything else. Furthermore we have the Muslim Brotherhood, of which the stated goal is according to a captured internal document, to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within”. The Muslim Brotherhood is responsible for the founding of Hamas and al Qaeda. Not worried yet, Jocelyne? Apparently some countries in Europe are.

She continues, “In his campaign preceding Holland's recent elections, extreme right-wing parliamentarian Geert Wilders repeatedly argued that Islam is a political ideology.” Well Jocelyn, if you had read the Qur’an you would know that in Islam, religion and government is one in the same. According to Islam all nations shall have theocratic forms of government as instructed by Allah and written in the Qur’an. Thus Islam is not only a religion, it is a political ideology.

It gets even worse as it is apparent that poor Jocelyne has never ever read even one excerpt from the Qur’an. She writes, “American and European debate on Islam often revolves around the question of whether Islam is compatible with Western-style democracy and values. But because many Westerners associate Islam with al Qaeda, Palestinian militant groups and Iranian theocracy, they have a constricted, one-dimensional view of a faith that is multifaceted and complex.” Islam is not compatible with Western-style democracy and values because we have separation of church and state. Islam and the countries under its spell do not. In Islam there is no separation of church and state, as written in the Qur’an. Witness Turkey and Pakistan’s withdrawal back into Sharia law and a return to Islamic Theocracy.

She then writes, “It's worth noting that we did not seek to explain the violence and terrorism of Northern Ireland through the lens of Catholicism and Protestantism only”. I’m not touching this one with a ten foot pole. Is she really this clueless of the facts? Apparently so!

It gets better. Apparently completely ignorant of the Muslim Jihad that lasted for hundreds of years she writes, “when Europeans were building new political principles based on the sovereignty of the people, they defined them in opposition to their most powerful political neighbor of the time: the Ottoman Empire. "Oriental societies" were represented as simply the negative counterpart of Western societies. Islam and Muslims became the typical "Other." Wow. Just, wow is all I can say to this. During the time leading up to the First World War, the Ottoman Empire was a crumbling, decaying, corrupt mess. No wonder western countries viewed it negatively. It was viewed negatively because it was a complete and utter disaster! Please Jocelyne, for the love of God, read a book. I have plenty of books explaining the situation leading up the First World War that would explain all of this in detail.

People are wary of Islam because they have declared holy war upon us. The Qur’an states that Muslims should quest for the caliphate encompassing the entire world. Islam is the only faith that commands the subjugation of all other religions. All peaceful verses in the Qur’an written during Mohammed’s time in Medina are abrogated by the latter violent verses during the time of Mecca, when Mohammed began his bloodthirsty quest across Arabia, then the world. Mohammed was a prophet. A prophet that turned into a warlord, conquering all of the lands and peoples around him. He personally put to death over 600 Jews. Was Jesus a warlord? Was Moses a warlord? Was Bhudda a warlord? Think about that for a minute and then maybe you will see why people are nervous and wary of Islam. If that doesn’t work for you consider these facts.

It is day 14 of Ramadan. So far there have been 86 terror attacks in the name of Islam, in which 376 Muslims have died. This month alone there have been 192 attacks in the name of jihad in 23 countries for a total of 1,060 dead and 1,860 wounded. There have been 15,903 terrorist attacks since 09/11/01 (source: TROP).

"The spread of Islam was military. There is a tendency to apologize for this and we should not. It is one of the injunctions of the Qur'an that you must fight to spread Islam." -Dr. Ali Issa Othman, Islamic Scholar.

Don’t be like Jocelyn. Educate yourself, read the Qur’an. Read scholarly texts about it. Look at the statistics. Think about all of this the next time you see a “Coexist” sticker on someone’s bumper.

The scary thing about this incredibly ignorant woman is that she is director of the Islam in the West Program at Harvard University and Johns Hopkins University. She is a political scientist, specializing in contemporary Islamic societies and Islam in Europe and in the United States. For more, see euro-islam.info and islamopediaonline.

As a “Harvard” and “John Hopkins” political scientist, she is about as clueless about American European identity than most political scientists I have read. As par, she does NOT cover the full-range of reasons why Europeans, as with Americans, are shutting down on Islamic immigrants, etc. I call such selectivism.....or willful ignorance..... I’d ager that she does not believe that HAMAS and Hezbollah are terrorist entities either. =.=

Islam is a terror ideology. The war against Islam must be won.

“Islam is a religion, not a terror ideology”

Hey, I know, I know, you don't have to tell me. Its a religion of peace. Would you mind emailing your piece to Zawahiri?

And Ahmadinejad?

And those crazy guys in Lebanon? And the Philippines? And south Thailand?

many Westerners associate Islam with al Qaeda, Palestinian militant groups and Iranian theocracy

So obviously do many muslims. She needs to publish her piece in Al Jazeera, and explain Islam to the muslims, since they clearly don't get it. Don't tell me, tell them.

Great article discussion and brought to mind that here is a group of people trying to call Islam peaceful, and yet, ironically, I think Jesus said he did not come to bring peace but a sword?

Matthew 10

34”Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

35”For I came to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW;

36and A MAN’S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.

37”He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

38”And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.

39”He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.

***************
Food for thought.

For fun afternoon reading, Google “Denmark” “muslims” and “Rape” together. (Or whatever search engine you prefer.)

The rejection of Islam is enlightenment, a breath of sanity in a politically correct West. That’s why liberals side with Islam, and attack those who are smart enough to know the difference between foolishness and liberty.

Mecca and Medina are segregated "muslims only" cities with a standing death penalty for any sub-human non-muslim who'd dare enter them. The Isalmic capital is landed in a segregated nation called Saudi Arabia that discriminates openly against non-muslims, who have fewer rights and fewer protections and unequal sentencing under Islamic law. The so-called moderate muslims around the world who bow to Mecca 5 times a day every day never mount protests against this human rights injustice.
