Freedom of Religion - for Whom?

Those who want to build a mosque at Ground Zero could build it anywhere. Why do they insist on building it there? Either they are utterly insensitive to the spirits of the dead and to the feelings of the survivors, or they are intentionally insulting those spirits and those feelings. Why should we try to please such people? Why should we try to placate those who heap vile insults on those who oppose the mosque? Why should we use “freedom of religion” to excuse appeasing those whose aim is to abolish freedom of religion?

Proponents of the mosque claim that it will merely be near Ground Zero. No. Pieces of an airliner fell through the roof. The building was covered with dust composed of pulverized concrete, pulverized steel, pulverized glass − and pulverized human bodies. The building is part of Ground Zero.

It is already a holy place. As Lincoln said about the battlefield at Gettysburg, it is already consecrated far above our power to add or detract. But it is within our power to insult the memory of the dead, and pour salt on the wounds of the survivors. And like all hypocrites, we can camouflage our cowardice and insensitivity, and pretend to do this for noble reasons. We can do it in the name of “tolerance” and “diversity.” We can do it in the name of “freedom of religion.” But freedom for whom?

The whole point of having the “cultural center” at ground zero is to normalize Islam in America. It is to provide soothing dialogue to the 911 victims. It is to defuse the tension over Islam in America. The goal is to make everyone believe that a great and peaceful religion has been hijacked by a handful of extremists. Interesting that the construction will almost certainly be paid for by that same handful of extremists. Hey, what’s wrong with that? They’re buying me a hot dog.

No respect. I think that's a tenet of Islam.

0bama is part and parcel of the Cordoba Initiative.

.
If we give Islam equal status with other religions, the latter will NOT survive. It’s like putting a Great White and tuna in the same tank. Thank you GW for calling Islam a ROP.

When the founding fathers thought of America, their little baby, the last thing they wanted was an invasive force to stifle, smother it, and then overwhelm it and kill it.

Most people do not recognize that what happens in a mosque is sedition. Pure and simple. Islam is not just a “religion”, it is a cult. Larger than that though, it is a political system, it is it’s own government, a economic system (which includes funding new mosque construction), its judicial...all wrapped up in the word sharia. This is inclusive of its military (jihadis) all rolled into one with one intent ...and that is to rule wherever they take root. It is a invasive, systemic infection looking to take over the host once it has quantum.

This is not just a “religion”, but something that cloaks itself in those terms so it should not be given the same treatment contemplated under the first amendment. The Korans Sharia rules are to consume whatever government there is wherever it goes.
Islam is political, and it’s goal is to supplant and replace. Globally.

When the founding fathers thought of America, their little baby, the last thing they wanted was an invasive force to stifle, smother it, and then overwhelm it and kill it.

The sooner America learns this , the better. Some know and many do not, but it is a threat to everything America knows.

Obama? Obama and Company? Should be tried for treason in this issue for promoting the establishment of a foreign government on our soils. He is doing nothing to protect America as per his oath. Also, as a Muslim, he knows this, he know far better, he knows sharia, but is looking to deceive America.

Sharia is contrary to America, its rights , freedoms , liberty and democracy.

Our founders who gave us the Bill of Rights never expected to give freedom of religion to a religion which had the goal
of destroying all other religions. Islam does not tolerate
any other religion, so it makes no sense grant Islam any rights at all. We should expel Islam.

Christianity, Judaism, Buddhaism,Hinduism, Shinto, and others are willing and do live side by side with other religions without trying to destroy them. But Islam , whenever it has the power, destroys all the others.

That is a great line!

Thanks! But here is an even better one: "The choice is not between order and liberty. It is between liberty with order and anarchy without either. There is danger that, if the court does not temper its doctrinaire logic with a little practical wisdom, it will convert the constitutional Bill of Rights into a suicide pact." − Justice Robert H. Jackson, U.S. Supreme Court
