My husband spent some time in New Orleans this summer. He was also there in the aftermath of Katrina. He was shocked at the condition of the city and how little had been done to repair the city. He wondered where all the money went that was sent to restore the city. He said it looked like a war zone. The hotel where he was staying was fully restored, but right next to it, the building was boarded up and full of graffiti. The side walks were full of holes and actually dangerous to walk on. He concluded that you could pour all the money into the city and keep propping up the status quo, but until the economy returns, the city will remain in the condition of a third world country.

Well....her daughter is a contributing feature reporterette for the TODAY Show. And hubby is trying to sell books. Not that I expect he’s reaching his demo this way.
