Illinois Senate Democratic campaign declares Libertarian Mike Labno a threat to Republican

Illinois Treasurer and US Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias’s campaign posted a press release titled “Anti-Establishment Wave Should Have Washington Insider Kirk Afraid, Very Afraid” on wednesday. The release warns Republican Congressman Mark Kirk that he faces a “legitimate challenge from the right with Libertarian candidate Mike Labno officially on the Illinois ballot.”

As with Republican Senator Bob Bennett of Utah, the anti-incumbent wave is on the brink of taking its next victim this morning as incumbent Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska faces the more than likely loss to a conservative challenger from the right. Congressman Mark Kirk, a 10-year incumbent Washington insider, has tried and failed repeatedly to curry favor with the conservative base in Illinois, and is now facing a legitimate challenge from the right with Libertarian candidate Mike Labno officially on the Illinois ballot.

“Incumbent Congressman Mark Kirk, who has lived in Washington, D.C. for the past 20 years, must be shaking in his boots this morning as the returns from last night’s Alaska Republican primary show incumbent Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski facing an upsetting loss from her conservative challenger,” said Alexi for Illinois campaign manager Michael Rendina.

On his facebook fan page, Mike Labno posted the link with the response: “This is very true Alexi, and you should be afraid too.”

Mike Labno is a conservative prolife Libertarian. Conservatives in Illinois should give him a hard look. Check out his website and see what you think. I've corresponded with Mike and he is the real deal. He is more a "Rand Paul" type Libertarian.

I'm not the libertarian type guy, but here ya go.

BTW did you guys see the White Sox pregame where they had the Bears Trophy, Bulls Trophy, Sox Trophy and Blackhawks Trophy. I'm so pissed I didn't go to the game tonight, I went to a Stargate convention in Rosemont instead...

Actually, the communist Green Party guy will cost more votes than a libertarian will cost Diablo. As DJ says, Alexi will be going to jail one way or another.

Of the eleven candidates who filed for the U.S. Senate seat, it seems only four got on the ballot. They are Mark Kirk (DIABLO combiner), Alexi Giannoulias (RAT combiner), LeAnn Jones (Green), and Mike Labno (Libertarian)

Stufflebeam was kicked off the ballot by Kirk's army of lawyers despite filing over 34,000 signatures and STILL having over the 25,000 requirement minimum after they got done challenging all his signatures. I have no idea what bogus excuse the judge used to recommend he get removed from the ballot, but the state board of elections went along with it.

Labno posted on facebook that he had attended the hearings and both Corey Dabney (Independent) and Stufflebeam were kicked off the ballot for frivilous reasons and his heart goes out to them.

The first three commies all had qualified ballot access to begin with, under state law the Greens are considered a "major party" since their nominee for Governor got over 5% last time around. I'm surprised Team Kirk wasn't able to purge Labno as well. We've already seen half a dozen decent conservatives with potential that were purged by the combine and driven from this Senate race.

So if Labno stays on the ballot, at least we have an alternative to the three abortion-loving, gun-grabbing, illegal alien hugging socialists running for the seat.

I agree that Labno's not exactly my cup of tea but he's pretty good on 80% of the issues and a reasonable decent guy instead of one those "9/11 was an inside job" types. The fact he's a pro-life Libertarian will be especially good considering how many social conservatives will avoid pro-abortion extremist Kirk in droves (BTW, it was leaked this week that Kirk sent a letter to Planned Parenthood, begging for them to endorse him over Alexi, mocking pro-lifers and gloating how much he had screwed over the GOP )

Labno's pro-life, pro-gun, pro-limited government, anti-Obamacare, anti-cap n' trade, anti-national ID card (Kirk is pro-national ID card), and anti-handouts to illegals.

He supports abolishing the federal reserve, something I agree with, but unlikely to ever be embraced by either of the major parties. I'm probably closer to the LP than the GOP on monetary policy.

Overall a candidate I could easily get behind if need be. The Constitution Party will continue to fight to get on the ballot through Sept., but the odds they'll succeed are very slim at this point.

Oh, and don't forget, they're also Julie Fox (LP) on the ballot against the uber-scum Topinka for Illinois Comptroller.

Unless Randy Stufflebeam and the Constitution Party can get back on the ballot in the next couple of weeks, I’m urging all Conservatives to back Michael Labno for U.S. Senate and Julie Fox for Comptroller.

I’m sticking with Brady & Plummer because we can’t have Pat Quinn for another years.

Mark Kirk should very afraid because of the legitimate challenge he faces from the right in Libertarian Candidate, Mike Labno.

This is very true Alexi, and you should be afraid too.

I’m supporting the entire statewide GOP ticket, with the exception of Topinka and Kirk.

I also noticed for the FIRST time since I began voting around a decade ago, I am endorsing ALL 19 Republican congressional candidates in this state (though I’d have to hold my nose in districts 10, 13, and 15 because the Republican is a squish, but the RAT in a marxist). I do not vote by blind partisanship, I decide all races on a case by case basis, so it’s quite remarkable for me that the GOP is the best candidate in every congressional district this year. Usually there’s always 1 or 2 seats where the only choice is a Libertarian vs. RAT race (no Republican filed), or there’s some total RINO douchebag so the Constitution Party is a better choice.

All-in-all, I’m supporting about 90% of the Republicans on the ticket. The pro-Kirk forces who scream “purist” at anyone who won’t vote for their pathelogically lying socialist can stick that in their pipe and smoke it. My voting record speaks for itself. I’m far more supportive of the GOP than their buddy Kirk has ever been.

I'd vote for a democrat before I ever would vote for that hag.

I LOVED that. The Yankees had to sit there and watch us flash our bling.

Of course they had to go take 2 of 3 against the Sox. :/

Which at least makes him "tea". Kirk is what comes after you drink too much tea. ;d

I agree with your endorsements. I was already backing Fox for Controller. I wouldn't vote for the rat in the race but if there was no right of center option I'd undervote before I'd vote for Judy again, I'm done voting for her.
