After the NOLA storm they threatened that was going to be the norm because of global warming... anyone think of a horrible multiple hurricane year since?

I’m hoping for a hurricane in November...oh, wait, that would be a tsunami...

As much as I enjoy ‘global warming alarmists’ with pie in their face over the failure of more hurricanes because of the myth that is man made climate change, I’m reminded that it’s only September.

In the words of the immortal Yogi Berra:

It ain’t over(summer), until it’s over.

What a stupid post, quite frankly. The forecast is for hurricanes throughout the Atlantic basin, not just for US landfalling storms. 1992 was a slow year for hurricanes, but it also gave us Andrew. So learn something about the subject before commenting on it.

Oh, and we currently have a major hurricane that could hit the East Coast this week. So you also win an award for bad timing.

Yeah, 2008 - Gustav and Ike.

"I predict ten named systems, six of which will develop hurricane force winds. Not only that, but I would be willing to bet that my prediction will be closer to reality than the 23 and 14 that all that government money and NOAA are sort of predicting."

My May 27 prediction here at FR.

We're close to the peak of the season. The gold standard for active years is 2005. By this time that year, we had 12 named storms, 5 hurricanes.
