Poll: Brewer Beats Challenger 60/38; Voters Deciding Race On Issues Rather Than Debate Performance

Gov. Brewer screwed the pooch in that last debate she had...no doubt about that. It was a bad performance, but as we all know a good debater does not make a good leader. Bush was alright at debating but not stellar in any way shape or form. When it came to running and protecting this nation however he WAS great. Not perfect but no human being is.

The liberals-jumped-all over-the Brewer-debate and highlighted it in multiple blog posts all over the web hoping this would somehow prevent her re-election and the Democrat pool could grow with illegals again swarming throughout Arizona.

They thought wrong:

Despite her halting debate performance last week, Arizona Republican Governor Jan Brewer now earns 60% of the vote in her bid for reelection, her best showing in the race to date.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Arizona Voters shows Democratic Attorney General Terry Goddard with 38% support. One percent (1%) like some other candidate in the race, and another one percent (1%) are undecided.

The race remains Solid Republican in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Gubernatorial Scorecard. Two weeks ago, Brewer posted a 57% to 38% lead over Goddard. Since May, Brewer's support has steadily risen from 52%, while Goddard's has hovered in the 35% to 39% range.

The survey, taken Tuesday night, follows nearly a week of negative publicity surrounding Brewer's debate performance and suggests that voters remain focused on the issues that divide the two candidates.

Ya think?

Imagine that....voters that consider the issues first and foremost and debate performance second.

The left wants to paint Brewer as an uneducated dolt because of her performance, but in the same breath extol Obama as some kind of genius. Here is Thomas Lifson writing about the recent Obama remodel of the Oval Office:

Woven into the new presidential seal rug adorning the Oval Office is a misattributed quotation, offering us a perfect metaphor for the Obama presidency. Jamie Stiehm reports in the Washington Post:

"The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." According to media reports, this quote keeping Obama company on his wheat-colored carpet is from King.

Except it's not a King quote. The words belong to a long-gone Bostonian champion of social progress. His roots in the republic ran so deep that his grandfather commanded the Minutemen at the Battle of Lexington.

For the record, Theodore Parker is your man, President Obama. Unless you're fascinated by antebellum American reformers, you may not know of the lyrically gifted Parker, an abolitionist, Unitarian minister and Transcendentalist thinker who foresaw the end of slavery, though he did not live to see emancipation. He died at age 49 in 1860, on the eve of the Civil War....

The error perfectly encapsulates the shallowness of Barack Obama's intellect and his lack of rigor. Obama is a man who accumulated academic credentials while giving no evidence whatsoever of achieving any depth. He was the only president of the Harvard Law Review to graduate without penning a signed article in that esteemed journal. His academic transcripts remain under lock and key, as do his academic papers.

You can stick a fork in Brewer’s challenger.

Well, we don’t want Terry “Squeaky” Goddard as governor. And Governor Brewer is working hard to protect us from Mexican violence and Obama. Squeaky is working hard to keep from looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

I couldn’t watch the debate. What did she or didn’t she say?

“but as we all know a good debater does not make a good leader”

There’s the money quote!

Remember that Jan Brewer advanced from Sec’y of State to Governor when Napolitano got the Big Sis job, and her background is not particularly impressive. Don’t get me wrong - I’m a huge Jan Brewer fan! But she is the perfect example of why common sense, conservative values, a passion for traditional America, and flat-out GUTS are much more important criteria in selecting a leader than where they went to college or how many years they’ve spent inside the beltway.

Jan Brewer and Sarah Palin are great examples of ordinary people using their God-given talent to it’s fullest and rising to the occasion out of passionate beliefs, not because they’re told to by a teleprompter or campaign manager.

‘What did she or didn’t she say?’

Unfortunately she didn’t say anything, for 16 seconds. What they used to call ‘a senior moment’.

Jan Brewer has a long, solid record as Secretary of State of Arizona, and in the other offices she has held. As Governor, she has been nothing short of inspirational. Gov. Brewer and the people of Arizona are the most effective opposition to the muslim communist obama and his totalitarian-minded minions.

So she blew the debate. So she said that there were beheadings in the Arizona desert. So what!

We all blow speeches, interviews, etc. at one time or another. And the “beheading” remark was only a small misstatement. There ARE beheadings just south of the border, and the same drug cartels are crossing the border into Arizona to do their dirty work. Gov. Brewer and the people of Arizona have a right to be scared, and to want to take action!

As usual, the media and the pundits jumped all over her, calling her “senile” and “not executive material”. They called her “beheading” statement a lie.

Fortunately, the people of Arizona are not buying the media fufarar, and are continuing to support Governor Brewer over the obama sycophant Terry Goddard.

As for obama, he is really a dumb-dumb. He is a plant who got everything he has due to his bankster and Saudi sponsors, and to New World Order pseudo-intellectuals like Martha Minow, who is now dean of Harvard Law School. Minow said, when obama was in her classes, that he would be President someday. I think that that was not a prophecy, but something that Minow helped to make happen.

Martha Minow is a “human rightser” and a vicious Serbophobe. I am proud to say that I once stood toe-to-toe with her (with no teleprompter) in supporting Serbian Orthodox Christians, and more than held my own. Her helping to make possible the rise of Barack Hussein obama is truly in character.

Wouldn’t it be a hoot if these three races pushed GOP over the top in the House?!

AZ1: Kirkpatrick (D)
AZ5: Mitchell (D)
AZ8: Giffords (D)

Don’t mess with Arizona!
