Obama on 9/11: Get Over It
Commentary Magazine ^ | September 12, 2010 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 09/12/2010 9:13:52 AM PDT by Zakeet

Obama’s remarks on 9/11 were about what you would expect from a president who ridiculed his countrymen for overreacting to the most lethal terrorist attack on our soil and who can’t manage to utter the worlds “Islamic fundamentalists” or “jihadists.”

Really, let’s not dwell on the bad stuff, he tells us. “On this day, it’s perhaps natural to focus on the images of that awful morning — images seared into our souls. It’s tempting to dwell on the final moments of the loved ones whose lives were taken so cruelly.” Yes, it is tempting — because that is what the day is all about, to recall the diabolical work of our enemies and recommit ourselves to the defense of our civilization. But no, in his book, it’s about diversity training: “They were white and black and brown — men and women and some children made up of all races, many faiths. They were Americans and people from far corners of the world.”

As for the Islamist fascists who killed so many and made orphans and widows of many more, he has this to say:

It was not a religion that attacked us that September day — it was al-Qaeda, a sorry band of men which perverts religion. And just as we condemn intolerance and extremism abroad, so will we stay true to our traditions here at home as a diverse and tolerant nation. We champion the rights of every American, including the right to worship as one chooses — as service members and civilians from many faiths do just steps from here, at the very spot where the terrorists struck this building.

Oh, good grief. Yes, it was a religion — fundamentalist Islam that attacked us. Al-Qaeda is one organization but the jihadists attack because of religious beliefs.

Actually, Obama has become creepy.

I'm thinking the same thing. What is up with his mouth? I've never seen a person's mouth like that.

I would lay odds that on 9/11, as the TV images of those hijacked airliners crashing into the World Trade Center were broadcat, that 0bama was either thinking or actually exclaimed, "YESSSSS!!!!!!!"

That scumbag hates America, and that's no secret.

This is the tautology the Left is trapped into. They tell us to be tolerant of those among us who are not tolerant - Muslims. Yet, they themselves are not tolerant of Christians or conservatives.

The logical pretzels being used to defend the Left’s position are starting to trouble even casual observers of the political scene in middle America.

Wow, that was a great quote from Scalia in the article. Worthy of parents passing it on to their children!

haha, yes, I forgot that Barry had this penchant for Oprah sytle deep, navel-gazing about his own past. What a hypocrite.

I learned something last night. It has to do with dates.
This one has to to with April 27th.

The overfly of Manhattan by Air Force 1 with the military escort made three passes. One of the comments from an article I read: “I, too, was outside on the JC waterfront, just below Exchange Place, when I heard a loud screech. It almost sounded like a missile or rocket (but was probably just the fighter plane, on further relection). Out on the pier, you always see helicopters flying up and down the river, and the occasional small plane a little higher, but this was different. A few seconds later, we look up to see a very low flying jumbo jet with a fighter in what appeared to be a chase position (BTW, there are no markings or insignia on the BOTTOM of that plane). We looked down the street to see it banking south over Jersey City before disappearing behind the buildings. Emergency landing at Newark Airport, maybe, I thought? Then a minute or two later, it comes around again, from the south, down around the Verazano Bridge. We didn’t see it coming in until it was almost right on top of us and started banking right around the Goldman building. It was damn close! People had come out of the buildings and started running north along the pier, thinking it was going to crash, and I can’t say I blame them for thinking so. It was somewhat chaotic, to say the least!”

http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2009/04/report_says_plane_flys_low_pas.html

The date of the overfly was April 27, 2009.

April 27, 2009, was 204 years to the 1st day of the battle of Derna (or Derne). The Battle of Derna is considered the turning point of the First Barbary War, which we have immortalized in these words: “...to the shores of Tripoli.” Those words are from the Marines’ Hymn.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Derna

The battle began at approximately 2:45 pm local time.

The victory that day (reaffirmed twice until mid-May, after repulsing efforts to retake the city) marked the first time the US flag flew over a foreign battlefield.

http://militaryhistory.about.com/od/battleswars1800s/p/derne.htm

Louis Caldera took responsibility for the Manhattan flyover of AF1 and resigned.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/may/08/air-force-one-flyover-aide-resigns

Louis Caldera was Director of the White House Military Office from January 20, 2009, until May 22, 2009, and served as the 17th United States Secretary of the Army from July 2, 1998 until January 20, 2001.

I believe what New York and we witnessed on 4/27/2009, was the symbolic reenactment of the battle of Derna @ Tripoli, in reverse, complete with 3 passes over the site, and, the ‘planting’ of the flag by a foreigner in command on uS soil, perhaps with a sighting for the mihrab’s location at the GZ mosque. At the direction and with the support of the sitting President of the United States, as evidenced by presence and actions of an Air Force One 747.

The ‘Won.’ The Proud. The Base. (’Al Qaeda’).

I wonder what 9/11/11 is going to be now. What’s 0bama gonna do for an encore?

On 9/11/11. maybe Obama will dedicate the Shanksville mihrab and march from Ground Zero to the new ‘Community Center’ at ‘51 Park Place’ (look up that Chapter in the Koran). He might even lead some of the prayers in Arabic himself; after all, he knows them all.

9/11 first responder files suit against Ground Zero mosque developers
By DAREH GREGORIAN, NY POST
FR POSTED by Liz

A Sept. 11 first responder filed a $350 million suit against the developers of a proposed cultural center and mosque near Ground Zero, calling it a "nuisance," "a terror risk" and "an assault."

The strongly worded suit, which was brought by a former volunteer firefighter from Westchester named Vincent Forras. who helped at the Trade Center site after 9/11, with the assistance of the conservative group Freedom Watch. It charges developer Feisal Abdul Rauf and Park 51, the organization behind the mosque, "are the front persons and in charge of operations for interests tied to terrorism," and "are believers in radical Islam and its jihad against America and AmeriCn interests." They’ve strongly denied those allegations.

The suit, which seeks class action status, calls the proposed center "a monument to the jihadist’s victory over American ideals of freedom and democracy, [and] a desecration of the terrible sacrifice made by those innocents attacked."

It claims news of the plans for the site have been worsening first responders’ injuries. Forras’ and others "symptoms and illnesses have significantly increased since defendants sought to erect an Islamic Center and Mosque on or near Ground Zero," and the "emotional, mental and physical pain resulting from defendants’ actions in planning and taking concrete steps to build the Ground Zero Mosque are intolerable."

The suit seeks damages for nuisance, emotional distress and assault. it says the legal papers were written by Forras, and that controversial Freedom Watch founder and lawyer Larry Klayman was acting as his counsel. A rep for Park 51 didn’t immediately return an e-mail for comment.

I loathe this Muslim Pimp. I am frickin’ sick and tired of him telling us what to do, forget about 911, be tolerant of evil, etc. There is nothing remotely American about this imposter.

I did the same, penelopesire. I immersed myself in the events of 9/11 again and could hardly go to sleep last night for the nightmares. About B.O.’s speech—it all depends on what the meaning of “diabolical work of our enemies” means. To him, it may not mean islamofascists at all. Perhaps he is referring to other “enemies”—you know, the bitter gun-and-religion clingers. Also, he refers to al Qaeda as a “sorry band of men.” Makes it sound like Robin Hood and his “band” of relatively harmless n’er-do-wells who, like Little John and Friar Tuck, occasionally work their mischief.

Your third paragraph absolutely nails what I did yesterday (9/11). I spent about 10 hours researching on the Internet, watching the documentary 9/11, praying for the loved ones of those killed, crying a lot, etc.

Today, nine years after that horrible event, I still feel intense anger when watching a pre-9/11 movie and a pan shot of NYC includes the magnificent Twin Towers.

The 9/11 documentary mentioned above contains the only known film of the first plane hitting the tower. This past week I rented United 93 from Netflix. Highly recommend it.

I hope one day to visit this 911 Monument on September 11th.
