White House Science Czar Says He’d Use ‘Free Market’ to ‘De-Develop the United States’

From CNS News: In a video interview this week, White House Office of Science and Technology Director John P. Holdren told CNSNews.com that he would use the “free market economy” to implement the “massive campaign” he advocated along with Population Bomb author Paul Ehrlich to “de-develop the United States.”

In his role as President Barack Obama’s top science and technology adviser, Holdren deals with issues ranging from global warming to health care.

“A massive campaign must be launched to restore a high-quality environment in North America and to de-develop the United States,” Holdren wrote along with Paul and Anne H. Ehrlich in the “recommendations” concluding their 1973 book Human Ecology: Problems and Solutions.

De-develop also includes depopulation (See Paul Ehrlich)... guess who these folks would choose to depopulate first...

And they called Palin's considers about Death Panels and Trig..."Crazy"

Contemporary satellite image of New York:

How these visionaries imagine the city in 2049:

This is from the book Manahatta by Eric W. Sanderson. In this vision of the future several areas will be reserved for high rises in the city including downtown Manhattan, Brooklyn Heights and Long Island City.

Sanderson foresees most of Long Island, Staten Island, Brooklyn and all of Jersey City will become farmland again.

He never explains where all the people have gone.

I think it was called The Wilds Project.

It's still very active -- just out of the headlines. Don't want to get the "Folks" stirred up too much...

Ted Turner is one of the leading lights. He's the largest private land owner in the U.S. and is raising buffalo, prairie dogs, ferrets, wolves, etc. to run farmers and ranchers off their private land.

John P. Holdren, Paul R. and Anne H. Ehrlich, Al Gore, David Foreman of Earth First, and several other prominent eco-nuts, should be left on a desert island, provided with just enough water and food to live on, and told that if they want more, one of their number gets less.

And if they inflict the rationing on themselves that they would inflict on the rest of us, they will survive. But if they are greedy, then some of their number will starve to death.

Then televise, as these petty, greedy souls murder each other, just so that they can have extra water and food. Because in their twisted souls, enough is never enough.

It’s referred to at Lucianne and GatewayPundit, but I can’t figure out where it came from. I sure would like to know if it’s accurate. If so, great graphic. Even democrats could understand that one.

Why make it farmland? High-rise farms have greater potential economies of scale? Or community gardens on all blighted and delapidated buildings cleared away, which has a communitarian feel while making use of currently unemployed?
