He conceded it would have been a long-shot.

And he ultimately decided against it.

Rep. Mike Castle (R-DE) announced late Wednesday night that he would not launch a write-in bid for Senate. Two weeks ago, Christine O'Donnell shocked the political establishment when she upset Castle in his effort to be the Republican standard bearer for Senate this fall.

Then be man enough to endorse the Republican candidate, Mike.

Otherwise, I don’t want to hear from him.

now we need Hoffman to step down like a man..

and Murk could step down as a man too but I don't think she'll do it.....

so help me, if the pub party doesn't get loyalty contracts from candidates with severe monetary damages, I will scream!

that’s too bad. having castle in the race was actually helping o’donnell, according to one poll. (and that tells you everything you need to know about mike castle)

Polls have indicated that he would pull votes from Coons.
A write-in from Castle would have helped COD. And thats why he’s not gonna do it.

I had the same thought, but admonished myself for being too harsh. apparently not.

If he would have actually cared about O’Donnle winning after she wond the primary he would have been gracious and threw his support to her that would have been the nice thing to do but it seemas as if he is in it for himself not for the people or the nation

It’s a good thing.

It’ll make people stop talking about how Castle would “help” Christine.

No poll showed Castle helping O’Donnell. A poll showed Christine 2 points closer to Coons, and gave 5% to Castle.

People concluded, based on nothing, that that 5% would’ve gone to Coons.

It was just as easy to assume that Christine gained 7%, and Castle took 5%, leaving Christine with a net 2%.

We won’t have to worry about any of that logic anymore.

Sure, if there were 10 Republicans in the race, it would help Christine even more, right.

I’m 100% Christine, have been since May, and I’m very happy that Castle isn’t in there to muddy the waters. Liberal vs Conservative, which do you want? And add in the pretty young female who has practiced being on TV for years factor.

good heavens. relax. no one is attacking her.

someone says something that isn't on the level of adoration ("yay, christine!!11! she roxes!111!"), and people get their panties in a wad.

and you can interpret the rasmussen poll any way you want. I interpret it to mean that castle was drawing votes from coons. that is, by the way, the way scott rasmussen interpreted it on hannity earlier this week.

Nah, I don’t have problems with that some criticisms of Christine. I noticed that same thing. Similar to Palin.

I just thought it was an error. And a lot of people were talking about rooting for Castle to enter the race based on the same interepretation of the Ras poll.

This is a conservative site, though, and Christine is not a RINO, so people should be for Christine.

I’m 100% Christine too. I simply mentioned why I thought he was not running a write-in. I am glad he’s not running.
