Michelle Obama's Failure Is Good News For Children

First lady Michelle Obama shares a very dangerous belief with her husband when it comes to transforming things: that it is most important to be seen as the driving force behind over-reaching changes no matter who they hurt. Toward that end, Mrs. Obama has pushed hard for what has euphemistically been called a child nutrition bill but is in fact a $4.5 billion attempt to implement a high-end solution to unhealthy school lunch programs by stealing future funding for food stamp programs.

Why not just pull money out of food stamps altogether? From what I see of food stmap people a little hunger wouldn’t hurt them any worse than it would hurt me. Hell alot of them are fatter than I am.

Of course the nation's largest food and beverage companies would jump on board. The new standards proposed in the bill would require the lion's share of that $4.5 billion to be spent on more expensive ingredients thereby driving up those companies' profits
Using more expensive ingrediants does not raise profits unless there is a premium paid to do so. Somebody is going to take money from that 4.5 billion dollars and basically bribe the schools to order this stuff and the companies to make it. Will the kids get anything better in the end? I doubt it, school lunches sucked in the sixties and have not gotten any better. What does a school get per meal per student to feed them? Not much. Divide 4.5 billion by how many meals less admin costs and what will the impact be? I bet it boils down (pun intended) to not much more than a few peas or a string bean.

I will say I’ve had the most horrible feeling that “Feed Your Children Well” was a husbandry manual.
